    Assam MBBS 2026 Eligibility Criteria

    To apply for the Assam MBBS admission 2026, candidates must review the eligibility criteria. The Directorate of Medical Education has established eligibility standards, which are listed below.

    • The candidate must pass the NEET 2026 exam.

    • The applicant must be a citizen of India.

    • As of December 31, 2026, the candidate must be at least 17 years old.

    • Each candidate must have passed English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the 12th grade.

    • Students must have attended Assam state schools from class VII to XII.

    • Every candidate should be in good health.

    • For the unreserved category, the candidate must obtain 60 per cent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and 50 per cent in the reserved category.

    • The candidate or the candidate’s parents must be permanent residents of Assam state for at least 20 years.

    15% All India Quota seats

    MCC will conduct online counselling based on NEET All India rank.

    85% state quota seats

    DME will conduct offline counselling on the basis of marks scored in NEET UG

    Assam MBBS 2026 Merit List

    Depending on the NEET marks obtained by candidates, DME releases the state merit list for MBBS/BDS Assam 2026. The list contains the names, NEET scores, percentile, NEET rank, and state merit rank of all qualified candidates from the medical entrance exam and those who are permanent residents of the state. Eligible candidates are notified about the counselling based on their merit rank. Candidates are required to complete the Assam MBBS application form 2026 before beginning the counselling process.
