The NEET UG exam was introduced in 2016. Initially, the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) was to be held as usual. However, following a Supreme Court ruling, the government was instructed to conduct a single entrance examination for all medical and dental colleges in India. The result was the introduction of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). NEET 2016 exam was conducted in 2 phases:
NEET phase 1: This was AIPMT 2016 held on May 1, 2016.
NEET phase 2: The exam was conducted on July 24, 2016 for students who did not appear in the phase 1 examination.

A combined merit list was prepared using results from both phases, and this single score was used for admission to medical and dental seats across India.

Yes, you are eligible. After completing Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Pathology, you can appear again for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate if you have a valid MBBS degree and registration with the National Medical Commission. However, government rules about funding or seat eligibility may vary.
