The NEET 2026 exam is conducted offline in a single shift mode. Candidates are required to reach the NEET exam centre as per the official exam day schedule. Reaching at the allotted exam centre before the NEET 2026 reporting time will allow time for security checks, biometric procedure and document verification. The following guidelines must be followed by the candidates at the exam centre.
Report at the allotted exam centre at 11 AM
The NEET gate closing time is 1:30 PM
No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre after the gate closing time
Arrive early at the exam centre for frisking and document verification
Try to visit the exam centre a day before the exam to be aware about the route and transport.

The NTA has specified NEET dress code 2026 for all candidates. Following the dress code 2026 is mandatory as it requires candidates to wear light coloured, half-sleeved and thin soled footwear to prevent cheating and ensure frisking is done smoothly. There are separate dress code guidelines for male and female candidates.
Simple and light coloured clothes
Half-sleeved shirts and t-shirts
Simple pants and trousers
Thin soled shoes and sandals
Simple salwar, trousers or plain pants
Half sleeved tops, T-shirts or kurtis
Slippers or sandals with low heels
Simple hair bands
Electronic devices such as mobile phones, pen drives, earphones, Bluetooth devices, and watches, are not allowed inside the exam hall.
Packed or unpacked food items and personal water bottles are not permitted
Stationary items like pen, pencil, paper, eraser, scales, geometry box, calculators are prohibited to carry inside the test centre.
Wallets, goggles, belts, caps, accessories, cameras, and ornaments, are not allowed inside the exam hall.
The NTA has specified the list of documents for NEET exam 2026. These documents are allowed inside the exam centre. Candidates must carry these NEET documents 2026 for exam day as these are required for verification and attendance purposes. The list of documents requirements for NEET 2026 are:
NEET admit card
One passport size photograph
One postcard size photograph
A valid government photo ID
PwD certificate, if any

Yes, NEET is not mandatory for admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) for the academic year 2026-27. However, from 2027-28 session, NEET UG will be compulsory for admission to BPT course.
