The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree is a 4-year programme. BDS course specialises in dental procedures and treatment techniques for every age group. Candidates can opt for the BDS course after completing their class 10+2. Delhi has 3 top BDS colleges and all three colleges are owned by the government. Students must appear for the NEET UG national-level exam. The minimum percentage accepted to qualify for the examination is at least 50%.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a single medical entrance exam conducted for admission to BDS related courses in Delhi. The exam is conducted in pen and paper mode and consists of 180 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology based on the NCERT syllabus of Classes 11 and 12, which are to be answered in 3 hours. As per the NEET exam pattern, each correct answer carries 4 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for a wrong response. Biology has the highest weightage, followed by Chemistry and Physics. NEET is held once a year.
