Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery or BAMS is an undergraduate degree in the medical field. BAMS focuses on Ayurveda education which is based on the traditional Indian system of treatment along with modern medicine. In order to practice Ayurveda medicine, BAMS is the primary course. Admission to BAMS course is offered on the basis of NEET. However, many colleges enrol students without NEET.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET is a single national-level medical entrance examination for getting admission to 52,720 AYUSH seats offered by 914 AYUSH, and other colleges in India. BAMS admission without NEET is possible and medical colleges offer admission to students on the basis of 12th board exam results. Students who have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Biology by scoring a minimum of 50% marks (UR category) and 40% (reserved category) marks are eligible to take admission for BAMS without NEET. Aspirants must have cleared Class 12 from a recognized board in Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
Students should have obtained a minimum percentage of 50% marks in the above mentioned subjects (40% for reserved candidates).
Candidates must have attained the age as prescribed by the college.

Candidates wishing to take admission in BAMS course without a NEET score must follow the admission procedure which is mentioned below. The admission procedure varies from college to college.
Candidates should visit the official websites of BAMS colleges which offer admission without NEET.
The aspirants must register by providing all the relevant details and fulfil the application form for direct admission available on the official college website.
Upload all the required documents. Fill up personal, educational and other important details.
After cross-check all the details, submit the BAMS application form and pay the required fee through available payment methods.
Once the payment is done, download and print the application form of BAMS for future reference.
Depending on the number of seats, the particular college will contact the candidate to provide direct admission in the same course.
