Questions related to NEET

Have a question related to NEET ?

Hello Aspirant,

Your NEET rank of 328948 and your ST (Plains) category from Assam will not allow you to get any MBBS seat in a government medical college under the State Quota as the ST Rastroc/ candidacy cut offs are usually between lower 1–1.5 lakh ranks in Assam. But, you might have chances in:

  • Medical colleges in Assam (Private under ST Quota seats)
  • BDS (Dental) courses in government/private colleges
  • AYUSH courses (like BAMS/BHMS)

It is advisable to take part in state counselling & mop-up rounds and also state counselling for deemed universities if you are financially sound.

Hi! If you have scored 203 marks in NEET and you belong to the general category, then honestly It is not possible for you to get government college.   The cut-off for general category is usually much higher than what you have scored. You still have other options like you can try private medical colleges but they are very expensive. You can also try for BDS or other medical related courses.

Hello

Here is what your NEET rank (35,000), SC category, female, with Andhra Pradesh domicile, means for securing an MBBS seat in prominent government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh

1. All India Quota (15%) – MCC Counselling

In recent years, the AIQ closing ranks for SC candidates have ranged from 1,14,000 (Round 2) to 1,30,000 (Round 3).

With a rank of 35,000, you are well within this range.

You have a very strong chance of securing an MBBS seat under the All India Quota.

2. Andhra Pradesh State Quota (85%)

a. Category-wise Cutoffs (Govt Colleges)

For SC (female) candidates under the AP state quota, the closing rank is around 2,16,000.

Your rank of 35,000 is much lower, so you are comfortably eligible for government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

Immediately register for MCC AIQ counselling as soon as registration opens.

Apply for AP state quota counselling via Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (state counselled seats).

Prepare your documents like SC certificate, AP domicile, NEET result, ID proof, etc.

State NEET counselling forms are released early to:

  1. Start the process on time – States manage 85% of seats, so they begin early to avoid delays.

  2. Collect student details – For documents, category, and eligibility.

  3. Run smoothly with All India counselling – It helps avoid confusion by planning ahead.

  4. Each state has its own schedule – They don’t need to wait for All India rounds to start.

So, it’s normal and helpful that state forms come out before or along with NEET AIQ counselling.

Hello

With a NEET score of 129, your chances for MBBS/BDS admission in government colleges are extremely limited, even under reserved categories.

General (UR)Not eligible – Cutoff for unreserved category was around 137 in 2024.

SC/ST/OBCBarely qualified – SC/ST cutoff in 2024 was around 107.

EWS/OBC (non-creamy)Not sufficient for govt MBBS/BDS – even in mop-up rounds. If you belong to SC/ST, you've cleared the NEET qualifying mark, but chances in government colleges are very low unless you qualify under a special state quota or remote region

If we talk about karnataka Government MBBS (State Quota)Not possible

All India Quota MBBSNot possible

Private MBBS (Management/NRI quota)Possible (very costly)

AYUSH (Private)Possible
