Higher marks/percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology):
The candidate scoring higher in Biology is awarded AIR 1.
Higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry:

Higher marks/percentile score in Physics:
If both Biology and Chemistry scores are identical, Physics marks are compared.
Lower proportion of incorrect answers to correct answers in all subjects:
If the subject-wise marks are also same and tie still remains, the candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers relative to correct answers across all subjects is given the higher rank.
Lower proportion of incorrect answers to correct answers in Biology:
If the tie still persists, the same proportion is calculated for Biology only.
Lower proportion of incorrect answers to correct answers in Chemistry:
If required, the proportion in Chemistry is considered next.
Lower proportion of incorrect answers to correct answers in Physics:
If the tie remains unresolved, the proportion in Physics is compared.
Random selection:
If all the above criteria are exhausted and the tie still persists, NTA resolves the tie through a random process conducted under the guidance of an independent expert committee.
