No, handkerchief is not allowed inside the NEET exam centre 2026. As per the NEET exam day guidelines, no personal belongings shall be allowed inside the exam centre. In case, a student is found using such means, it will be treated as an unfair means case and which can lead to cancellation in current exam or disqualification in future NEET exams.

The strictly prohibited times in NEET have been clearly mentioned by NTA in the information bulletin. Security officials at the entry gate restrict candidates from using handkerchiefs inside the exam centre. As a part of barred items policy, no student is allowed to take any restricted item to the exam centre. Some of the barred or prohibited items inside the NEET 2026 exam centre are:
Stationary items: According to strict NTA NEET guidelines, geometry box, pencil, calculator, pen, scale, writing pad, pen drive, and erasers are not permitted inside the NEET test centre.
Electronics and communication devices: Mobile phones, bluetooth, earphones, pagers are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
Accessories: Watches, wallets, handbags, belts, caps, and ornaments will not be allowed inside the examination hall.
Eatables: Any food item whether packed or unpacked cannot be taken inside the test centre as a part of barred item policy by NTA.
Only mandatory documents can be taken inside the NEET examination hall. Candidates can be allowed to appear in the exam as these documents serve as an entry pass to the examination centre.
A coloured printed copy of NEET admit card
One passport size photograph (to be pasted on the attendance sheet)
One postcard size photograph (4’’X6’’) (should be pasted on the Proforma)
A valid government photo ID
PwD certificate (if claiming)
