As the NTA has introduced NEET 2026 new rules, this has left candidates with a lot of confusion. Many candidates are asking ‘Is name required on photo for NEET 2026?’. Candidates must note that the authority has not mentioned such a criteria anywhere in the NEET 2026 information brochure. Therefore, it is not compulsory to upload a photograph with the candidate's name and date on it. However, if a candidate is uploading a NEET 2026 photograph with name and date mentioned on it, it will be accepted by the authority provided it is in the prescribed NEET photo requirements 2026.

As per the NEET photo requirements 2026, candidates have to upload a passport size photograph in the NEET application form in the specifications mentioned above.   • Spectacles in the photograph are allowed only if a candidate is using it regularly.

  • Polaroid and computer-generated photographs are not acceptable.

  • NEET 2026 photographs need not be attested.
