Following the cancellation of the NEET 2026 exam and the announcement of a re-exam, the NTA has also stated that all registered students will receive the NEET 2026 registration fee refund. The complete registration fee of NEET 2026 will be refunded to the original payment source used by candidates while submitting the application form. Candidates belonging to the General category will receive a refund of Rs. 1700, while OBC and EWS candidates will get Rs. 1600 refunded. SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender candidates will receive Rs. 1000, whereas NRI candidates will get a refund of Rs. 9500.

NTA has not yet announced the exact date for the NEET 2026 registration fee refund. However, the refund is expected to be processed within a few weeks once the NTA announces the schedule of NEET re-exam 2026. Students are advised to regularly check the official website of the National Testing Agency, neet.nta.nic.in for updates regarding refund.
There is no registration fee for the NEET 2026 re-exam. NTA will use the pre-existing data and candidates don’t need to register again. NTA has also clearly stated that students will not have to pay any additional fees for the NEET 2026 re-exam.

The refund process of NEET 2026 registration fee is completely automatic and online. While filling the NEET 2026 application form, the mode of payment selected by the candidates will be used to refund the fees. NTA will refund the NEET 2026 fees to the respective candidates' debit/credit card, UPI, and net banking which were used during initial registration.
In case, any candidate has filled and paid the application fee of NEET 2026 through someone else (friend, relative, or cyber cafe), they can contact the related person and ask for the refund amount if they have received the refund. NTA will also release a separate notice regarding the successful refund process.
