Candidates wishing to apply for MBBS or BDS seats in the state of Telangana must fulfill the NEET domicile criteria for Telangana. NEET Domicile Criteria for Telangana

To get admission to medical colleges of Telangana, aspirants must have to fulfill the Telangana domicile certificate requirements for NEET. While admission under 15% seats under AIQ quota are open to all, candidates who are domicile of other states are not allowed to get admission under 85% state quota seats. NEET 2026 eligibility for Telangana resident

Candidates wishing to apply for the 85% MBBS seats under Competent Authority quota in the state of Telangana need to fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the state authority. Telangana NEET eligibility for local candidates can be checked from the points mentioned below.

  • Educational qualifications:

Candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English subjects by scoring the minimum marks required under each category which can be checked from the points below.

  1. OC and EWS candidates must have scored not less than 50% marks in science subjects.

  2. BC/SC/ST candidates must have scored marks not less than 40% in science subjects.

  3. OC PwD candidates must have scored marks not less than 45% in science subjects.

  • Age:

Candidates must have attained age of 17 years as on December 31 of the year of admission.

  • NEET cutoff: Candidates must have passed the NEET UG exam by securing marks equal or above to the NEET cutoff.

Telangana domicile eligibility for NEET 2026

For admission to MBBS or BDS courses under the Competent Authority quota in the Telangana state, candidates need to fulfill the NEET 2026 Telangana domicile criteria along with the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Candidates must be Indian citizens or PIOs or OCIs and must fulfill the below mentioned Telangana state domicile rules for NEET UG candidates.

  • Candidates are eligible for NEET domicile criteria for Telangana if they have studied in a school or college within that local area for at least four consecutive academic years, including the year they appeared (or first appeared) for the relevant qualifying exam.

OR

  • If a candidate has not studied in any educational institution during all or part of the four consecutive academic years leading up to the year they appeared (or first appeared) for the relevant qualifying exam, they are still eligible for claiming Telangana domicile for NEET UG 2026 if they lived in that local area for at least four years immediately before the start of the exam.

  • If a candidate has not studied in any educational institution but has lived in Telangana as per the conditions mentioned earlier (at least four years before the exam), they will only be eligible for NEET 2026 Telangana domicile criteria under the Competent Authority Quota if they have also appeared for the relevant qualifying examination in Telangana.

NEET domicile criteria for Telangana: For NRI quota

Candidates applying under NRI quota for admission to undergraduate medical courses in Telangana state need to fulfill the below mentioned Telangana NEET eligibility criteria.

  • Educational qualification:

Candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English subjects and must have scored the below mentioned marks.

  1. OC candidates must have scored not less than 50% marks in science subjects.

  2. BC/SC/ST candidates must have obtained not less than 40% marks in science subjects.

  • NEET cutoff:

Candidates must have qualified for the NEET 2026 exam by scoring the minimum NEET cutoff marks.

  • For already registered candidates:

Candidates who have already applied for Competent Authority quota seats are eligible to apply for Management Quota seats. However, they must submit a fresh Telangana NEET application form for it.

  • Age:

Candidates must have attained age of 17 years as on December 31 of the year of admission.

  • Candidates who have obtained their qualifications from a university or board outside Telangana must provide an Equivalence Certificate from the Board of Intermediate Education of Telangana. This certificate should confirm that their qualification is equivalent to or higher than the Intermediate examination conducted by the Telangana board in the same subjects, as per NMC eligibility criteria. They must submit this certificate at the time of admission to the college.

  • Candidates who have obtained their qualifications from a university or board outside India must submit:

  1. An Equivalence Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

  2. An Equivalence Certificate from the Board of Intermediate Education of Telangana confirming that their qualification is equivalent to or higher than the Intermediate examination conducted by the Telangana board in the same subjects, as per NMC eligibility criteria.

How to apply for Telangana domicile for NEET?

To obtain the Telangana domicile certificate requirements for NEET, candidates need to follow the below mentioned steps.

NEET domicile criteria for Telangana: Online application method

  • Visit the Telangana MeeSeva website.

  • Register and select the ‘Domicile Certificate’ service.

  • Fill in the details and upload the documents required for Telangana domicile for NEET.

  • Pay the application fee and submit the form.

  • The authorities verify the uploaded documents.

  • Once approved, Telangana domicile certificate is issued in 7 to 14 days.

NEET domicile criteria for Telangana: Offline application method

  • Visit the nearest MeeSeva centre.

  • Collect and fill out the application form.

  • Attach photocopies of all required documents.

  • Submit the form and pay the fee.

  • Collect the acknowledgment receipt for tracking.

  • Collect the Telangana domicile certificate from the MeeSeva center.
