The Telangana NEET Counselling 2026 is expected to become slightly favourable for many MBBS aspirants. As per the analysis of Telangana NEET rank list 2026, the number of qualified NEET candidates for 85% state quota counselling has declined compared to the last year. On the other hand, there is an increase in MBBS seats in Telangana in 2026 compared to 2025. This combination can improve the MBBS admission chances for eligible candidates during the Telangana NEET counselling process.

According to the Telangana NEET seat matrix 2026, there is an increase of 810 MBBS seats in 2026. Most of the increase has come from private medical colleges, while government colleges have also seen a slight rise in MBBS seat intake. At the same time, the number of qualified NEET candidates has reduced by over 3,500.

These numbers suggest that the overall seat-to-candidate ratio has improved compared to last year and hence students have a slightly better chance of securing an MBBS seat in 2026 compared to 2026.
One of the biggest positives for students participating in Telangana NEET Counselling 2026 is the decline in qualified candidates. Compared to the previous year, there has been a decrease in the number of qualified candidates this year. In 2026, there is a reduction of 3,558 candidates (Around 8.56%) compared to 2025. With fewer qualified candidates and more MBBS seats, students have a good chance in Telangana MBBS admission.
The Telangana state rank distribution has also changed across several NEET AIR ranges. While the highest AIR range has slightly fewer candidates than last year, some middle-rank ranges have seen an increase.

The combination of higher MBBS seat availability and fewer qualified candidates could influence counselling of Telangana NEET 2026 in several ways.
More candidates may receive MBBS seat allotments during Round 1 and further rounds.
Since, private medical colleges have seen the largest increase in MBBS seats, students have a good chance of getting a private MBBS college.
Candidates close to previous years' closing ranks may have comparatively better admission opportunities this year.
Counselling competition may become relatively less competitive than in the previous year because of the improved seat-to-candidate ratio.
