To participate in the VCI counselling, candidates must fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria.
Candidates must have qualified the NEET UG exam.
Candidates should be Citizens of India.
OCI and PIO candidates are also eligible to register for 15% AIQ counselling.
Candidates must be 17 years of age as on December 31, 2025.
Other NEET eligibility criteria should also be fulfilled.

After registering at the official portal, candidates are required to fill their preferences within the specified dates. Candidates must fill the choices of course and colleges in the order of priority. Candidates must lock their choices on or before the last date. Choices if not locked, gets locked automatically.
The seat allotment is done for the registered candidates who fill their choices. The VCI counselling seat allotment is done based on the choices filled by the candidates, availability of seats, reservation criteria, NEET scores and other criteria. Candidates who are allotted seats during VCI counselling are required to report at the granted institutes within the specified dates. In most past years:
The exam notice comes 1–2 months before the exam.
Sometimes the gap can be shorter, around 3–4 weeks , if the schedule is tight.
It can also be longer in some years, but 1–2 months is the common pattern .
