    The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the NEET 2026 counselling round 2 seat matrix. A total of 12283 seats are available as virtual vacancy and 11302 seats are available as clear vacancy. The round 2 registration process for NEET UG counselling 2026 can be done till September 8, 2026 at mcc.nic.in. Candidates who registered for NEET Counselling 2026 round 1 but were not allotted a seat or did not report need not register again. They can participate directly in round 2 counselling. Fresh registration is required only for candidates who did not register for Round 1 NEET counselling 2026.

    The NEET counselling 2026 round 2 seat matrix is released by the MCC before the start of choice filling process. The seat matrix of round 2 NEET counselling 2026 helps students in filling their preference of colleges.

    NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 2 Process

    The NEET UG counselling 2026 Round 2 process is completely online and can be done at the official portal of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at mcc.nic.in. Candidates can participate in Round 2 by following the steps below:

    • Registration: Candidates who did not register for Round 1 must complete fresh MCC NEET UG counselling 2026 Round 2 registration from September 3 to 8, 2026. Candidates already registered in Round 1 do not need to register again.

    • Choice Filling and Locking: Registered candidates must select and arrange their preferred MBBS and BDS colleges and courses during the choice-filling window. Choices should be locked before the deadline.

    • Seat Allotment: MCC will process the choices based on NEET UG 2026 rank, merit, category, seat availability and candidate preferences. The Round 2 seat allotment result will be released on September 11, 2026.

    • Download Allotment Letter: Candidates allotted a seat in MCC NEET counselling 2026 round 2 should download their seat allotment letter and verify the allotted college, course and category.

    • Reporting and Joining: Candidates who receive a seat must report to the allotted medical or dental college between September 12 and 18, 2026, with the required documents and complete the admission formalities.

    • Upgradation: Candidates participating in Round 2 can also be considered for upgradation to a higher-preference seat, subject to MCC counselling rules and seat availability.

    Who Can Participate in MCC NEET Counselling 2026 Round 2?

    Candidates who wish to participate in MCC NEET Counselling 2026 Round 2 must meet the eligibility and registration requirements prescribed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The participation requirements vary depending on the candidate’s Round 1 status.

    • Candidates not allotted a seat in Round 1: Candidates who registered for MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 but were not allotted any seat can participate directly in Round 2 without fresh registration.

    • Candidates who did not report or join: Candidates who registered in Round 1 but did not report to the allotted institute can participate in Round 2, subject to the applicable MCC NEET counselling 2026 rules. Such candidates do not need to register again if they are already registered with MCC.

    • Candidates seeking further counselling: Candidates eligible to continue in MCC NEET UG counselling 2026 can participate in Round 2 by filling and locking their choices within the prescribed schedule.

    • Candidates who did not register in Round 1: Candidates who did not participate in MCC NEET counselling round 1 must complete fresh registration for round 2.

    • Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1: Candidates who were allotted a seat in round 1 should follow the applicable MCC rules regarding joining, upgradation and participation in round 2.

    For MCC NEET counselling 2026 round 2, candidates need certain documents either during registration or reporting. The list of documents required for NEET 2026 round 2 counselling are as following -

    • NEET UG 2026 admit card

    • NEET UG result/scorecard

    • MCC seat allotment letter

    • Class 10 certificate

    • Class 12 certificate/marksheet

    • Valid photo ID
