The easier Chemistry section, balanced Physics questions, and lengthy but manageable Biology paper may help many students score full marks in NEET 2026. Experts believe that around 20 to 25 candidates could score 720/720 in NEET UG 2026.

After the NTA released the official NEET 2026 answer key on May 6, on neet.nta.nic.in, many students took to Reddit and social media to express concerns regarding the answer to the Physics question. According to several students, the NTA's answer to the NEET 2026 Physics questions does not match the one they believe is correct, leading to confusion among aspirants.
Additionally, if the answer given by the NTA is ultimately considered correct, many students who expected a perfect score may lose marks because of that question. This could reduce the number of students achieving full marks in NEET 2026.
Before understanding the expected topper marks for NEET 2026, students should know how the NEET scoring system works. NEET UG is conducted in offline mode and carries a total of 720 marks. The exam includes 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany + Zoology). To score a full mark in NEET UG, a student must answer all 180 questions correctly without making any mistakes.
Since NEET also has negative marking, even a few wrong answers can significantly affect the final score.
