    NEET 2026 Result LIVE: NTA re-exam scorecard for over 20 lakh soon; fee refund last date July 31

    If two or more candidates secure the same score in NEET UG 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will apply the following tie-breaking rules to determine the All India Rank (AIR):

    • Higher biology marks: Candidates with higher marks in biology (botany and zoology combined) will be ranked higher.
    • Higher chemistry marks: If the tie remains, preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks in chemistry.
    • Higher physics marks: If required, candidates scoring higher in physics will be placed ahead.
    • Fewer incorrect answers overall: If the tie still persists, the candidate with the lower number of incorrect answers across the entire paper will receive the better rank.
    • Fewer incorrect answers in subjects: If the tie is unresolved, preference will be given to candidates with fewer incorrect answers in biology, followed by chemistry, and then physics.
    • Random process: If all the above criteria fail to break the tie, the final ranking will be decided through a random selection process conducted under the supervision of an independent expert committee.
