Unlike some states where both government and private medical colleges have expanded, Rajasthan's entire MBBS seat increase for NEET 2026 has come from the private medical sector. While Rajasthan has increased its MBBS seat intake for NEET 2026, candidates should note that these seats are filled through different counselling quotas. Government medical college seats are divided between the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and the 85% Rajasthan State Quota. Since the number of government MBBS seats remains unchanged in 2026, the seats available under the 15% AIQ and 85% Rajasthan State Quota will also largely remain unchanged.
On the other hand, all 900 additional MBBS seats have been added in private medical colleges. These seats are allotted through the Rajasthan MBBS counselling process under different seat categories as per the admission rules. As a result, the expansion in MBBS admissions for NEET 2026 will primarily benefit candidates considering private medical colleges.
Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling 2026 may see a change in competition as the state has added 900 MBBS seats, while the number of qualified candidates has also increased by 11.07%. The additional seats, mainly added in private medical colleges, could improve admission opportunities for some aspirants.
However, since the number of NEET-qualified candidates has also grown and government MBBS seats remain unchanged, competition for government medical colleges is expected to remain strong. The Rajasthan NEET Cutoff 2026 will depend on factors such as seat availability, counselling participation, reservation, and candidate preferences.
