The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducts the Institute of National Importance Super-Speciality Entrance Test (INI SS). The INI SS exam is held twice a year for January and July sessions in online (CBT) mode for admission to DM, M.Ch. and MD (Hospital Administration) seats.
AIIMS, New Delhi, has announced the INI SS January result 2026 on December 1, 2025 at aiimsexams.ac.in. After the declaration of INI SS results, candidates who have qualified the entrance test are required to appear in the counselling process. INI SS 2026 January exam was conducted on November 22, 2025, in computer-based mode.
The INI SS exam is held for admission to DM/M.Ch./MD Hospital Administration Courses at Institutes of National Importance (INI), AIIMS New Delhi including all new AIIMS, JIPMER Puducherry, PGIMER Chandigarh, NIMHANS Bengaluru, and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology (SCTIMST) Thiruvananthapuram. A total of three rounds are conducted in the INI SS counselling during which aspirants have to register and fill in the choice of course and colleges. The seat allotment for INI SS exam is held on the grounds of INI SS rank, choices filled by the candidates during the counselling and seat availability.

The steps to fill INI SS application form 2026 are as follows:
Registration: Go to aiimsexams.ac.in and register for INI SS 2026 January session by entering the details asked in the portal.
Filling the application form: After registration, candidates will be redirected to the application form. Enter the personal details, educational qualification, contact details, and FMGE screening marks (if applicable).
Uploading of documents: In the third step, upload the documents as specified in the brochure.
Paying INI SS 2026 application fee: Pay the registration fee through Debit card/ Credit card/ Net banking. The INI SS 2026 application form fee is given in the table below.

To get admission to DM/M.Ch. seats through the common entrance test, candidates must meet the INI SS 2026 eligibility criteria as laid down by the authority.

Eligibility criteria MD (Hospital Administration)
Candidates must have an MBBS or equivalent degree.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in government hospitals or five years of experience in general practice.
Candidates belonging to the UR/OBC/EWS/Sponsored category must have obtained 55% in aggregate in MBBS whereas those belonging to SC/ST must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Candidates must be registered with the Central /State Medical Registration Council.
Candidates who have graduated from foreign universities must fill in their FMGE exam marks in the application form.

The INI SS 2026 exam is conducted in online (CBT) mode in two stages. Stage I will comprise of 80 questions that need to be answered in 90 minutes. For every correct answer, candidates are awarded one mark and for every incorrect answer, one-third mark is deducted. Stage II is conducted for those candidates who apply for AIIMS and is of 20 marks only.

Stage II: Applicable to all AIIMS only
Candidates must secure 50% marks or more in stage I.
Candidates must have registered online for AIIMS seats in respective specialty/course.
Candidates fulfilling the AIIMS eligibility criteria will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab-based assessment related to subspecialty/systems/component of the specialty/course for which the candidate has applied.
Candidates must obtain 50% marks or more in stage I and stage II combined to qualify for AIIMS seat allocation.
The authority releases the INI SS admit card 2026 in online mode. Candidates can download their INI SS admit card 2026 from the official website aiimsexams.ac.in. Candidates need to login using their candidate ID and password. In the admit card of INI SS details regarding exam date & time, exam centre, reporting time, candidate’s name, important guidelines and other information are provided.
Candidates must carry the INI SS 2026 admit card to the examination centre along with a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card/PAN card/Driving licence/Voter ID card).
AIIMS Delhi declares the INI SS 2026 result for all INI’s and a separate result of stage I for AIIMS applicants. Candidates who are included in the AIIMS merit list are called for the departmental assessment. The authority announces the final result after the departmental assessment. INI SS 2026 merit list
Based on the performance in stage I and stage II, the authority publishes two merit lists namely, the common merit list and the AIIMS merit list. The factors considered in preparing the merit lists are described below.
Common merit list (CML)
Candidates must have appeared and qualified in the stage I test.
Qualified candidates are assigned a rank and placed in the merit list in order of overall rank.
The merit list is utilised to grant admission to INI seats, except for AIIMS.
AIIMS merit list (AML)
Candidates must have appeared and qualified for stage I and stage II tests.
Merit list of qualified candidates is prepared considering the marks obtained in stage I and stage II combined.
Qualified candidates are assigned a rank and placed in the list in order of overall rank.
INI SS 2026: Tie-breaking criteria
If two or more candidates obtain the same marks in the common entrance test, candidates older in age is placed higher in the merit list.
INI CET provides admission to various courses such as Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Master of Chirurgiae (MCh). INI SS 2026 counselling will be conducted by AIIMS in online mode. Candidates included in the merit list are eligible to participate in the counselling process. To participate in the counselling, candidates have to register online and fill in choices for colleges and specialities.
The authority conducts a total of 3 rounds for INI SS 2026 seat allocation. After the allocation of seats, candidates have to choose any one option from the below-mentioned options.
