The best way to rate any coaching institution is to get the total number of students who studied there and give a ratio of how many students got a rank of less than 30,000 that entitles them to a seat in a government college under the All India Quota. However, this being an unregulated space, it is very difficult to get data that is credible and accurate. The only way we can do that is by looking at publicly available information, which is possible for the top 100 rankers.

Each year, after the NEET UG results are declared, various coaching institutes release advertisements claiming top ranks. However, often these claims lack clarity on whether the student was enrolled in their full-time classroom coaching, a distance learning programme, or merely subscribed to test series.
The purpose with which we went about collating this information is also to guide students on coaching institutions that deliver results, beyond the hype and claims made in full page ads in newspapers. It is about transparency, honesty and integrity of claims made by coaching institutions.
To bring transparency to this conversation, Careers360 examines the results data of the top 100 toppers of NEET 2025 to help you make the best choice. Here is a factual breakdown of the top 100 NEET 2025 AIR holders, based solely on verified data including classroom coaching enrolments, letters of consent, interviews, and video testimonials. This analysis excludes attribution based on only test series or distance learning packages unless accompanied by classroom coaching.

| Years | Registered | Appeared | Appearance % |
|---|---|---|---|
NEET 2019 | 15,19,375 | 14,10,755 | 92.85% |
NEET 2020 | 15,97,435 | 13,66,945 | 85.57% |
NEET 2021 | 16,14,777 | 15,44,275 | 95.63% |
NEET 2022 | 18,72,343 | 17,64,571 | 94.24% |
NEET 2023 | 20,87,462 | 20,38,596 | 97.66% |
NEET 2024 | 24,06,079 | 23,33,297 | 96.98% |
NEET 2025 | 22,76,069 | 22,09,318 | 97.07% |
In NEET 2025, a total of 22,76,069 candidates registered, out of which 22,09,318 appeared. This reflects a 6% drop in the number of test-takers compared to NEET 2024, where over 23.3 lakh students appeared. Interestingly, while the number of candidates has decreased, the number of MBBS/BDS seats has increased, rising from approximately 1.09 lakh last year to nearly 1.18 lakh this year. This 10% rise in available seats, combined with fewer applicants, significantly improves the chances of aspirants securing a medical seat.
The biggest challenge when collating this information was to set ground rules and methodology that help make a perfect data set. It is about comparing correctly on similar parameters.
Only full-time classroom coaching was considered for attribution.
Where students attended classroom coaching at one institute and test series or DLPs from others, attribution was given to the classroom institute. This is so because most serious students purchase a lot of mock tests and test series from many other coaching institutions so that they can practise more and understand their standing across a heterogeneous group of students. However, the learning, understanding and foundations to learn concepts, etc. happen at the classroom coaching institute where they study.
Multiple institute claims were resolved using student interviews, video evidence, or letters of consent. We examined every institution's claim against what the student has said in a public interview, or even spoke to students where needed.
Students preparing via self-study and online learning were categorised separately.
Conflicting claims:
Among the top NEET 2025 rank holders, several students had multiple coaching institutes claims. However, final attribution was based on verified interviews, classroom enrolment, and evidence of full-time coaching.
Mrinal Kishore Jha (AIR 4) and Keshav Mittal (AIR 7) were both claimed by Allen and Narayana. While Narayana’s claim was based on their test preparation platform nPrep, both students were enrolled in Allen’s full-time classroom programme. Therefore, the final attribution was given to Allen.
Aarav Agrawal (AIR 10) was associated with both Pace and Aakash. While he studied at Pace for his 10+2 schooling, he attended full-time NEET coaching classes at Aakash, as confirmed through his interview. Though he had also subscribed to Allen’s Distance Learning Programme (DLP), the primary coaching attribution was assigned to Aakash.
Rupayan Pal (AIR 20) and Arsh Gandhi (AIR 11) both confirmed in interviews that they underwent two years of classroom coaching at Aakash, despite enrolling in test series from other institutes. Hence, the attribution for both students goes to Aakash.
In some cases, multiple attributions could not be clearly resolved. For instance, Saransh Mittal (AIR 69) gave interviews to both Allen (prior to result declaration) and Aakash (after results). Due to the lack of conclusive evidence favouring one institute over the other, this student was jointly attributed to both Allen and Aakash.
Based on all the data and the methodology explained, this is how the results of the coaching institutions look:
NEET 2025 - Top 10 rankers:
Aakash Coaching Institute produced 5 of the top 10 rankers. Allen followed it up with 3 of the top 10 rankers. However, the topper is from Gurukripa Coaching Institute based in Sikar. In fact, the topper took the exam in Hindi Medium.
NEET 2025 - Top 25 rankers:
Here again, Aakash led the way, producing 10 of the top 25 rankers. This was followed by Allen with 8 of the top 25 rankers. Narayana and Gurukripa followed it up with 2 each. There is one candidate who is a self study student, which is reassuring.
NEET 2025 - Top 50 Rankers:
Here again, Aakash secured 15 of the top 50 rankers in NEET 2025. This was followed by Allen with 13 in the top 50 rankers, Sri Chaitanya had 5, Narayana had 2, Gurukripa operating only from Sikar, had 3. A lot of small coaching institutions claimed 7 toppers and most reassuringly, 5 were students who did self study and did not attend any full time coaching institution.
NEET 2025 - Top 100 Ranker:
Here, Allen takes the lead. They got 28 of their students in the top 100. Aakash followed it up with 24 of the top 100 rankers. Srichaitanya had 10, Narayana had 8 and Guru Kripa had 6 of them. Most reassuringly, 14 students who got a rank of less than 100 were students who did not actively go to a coaching institute and did self study.

Going by the data presented, Akaash Coaching Institute and Allen Coaching were neck to neck in the desired outcomes, with both trading places in the top 100 and seem to have delivered the best results for the students. And the heart warming thing is that 14 students did not go to any coaching institute and still stood in the top 100 rankers.
