i have physics, chemistry maths with computer science and English. is there any way i can be eligible for NEET like doing bio from open school or appearing as private candidate if Im willing to take a drop year?

Shruti Jha Student Expert 29th Mar, 2020

Hi,

Its a difficult yet not impossible task.

Being a pcm branch student till 12th standard doesn't allow you to sit in the neet examination.

But yes, if you really wants to go for mbbs/bds/any medical field for your higher studies then you can opt biology as a course through private or nios boards.

According to different eligibility criterias of neet, nios or private board students are also eligible for neet exams.

The details of this are as-

NEET examination code 2:

Candidates who have completed a period of 12 years under Higher/Secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), which is equivalent to Class 10+2 can opt code 2. However, the last two years of study must include English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology or Mathematics or any other elective as a major subject as prescribed by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).

Aspirants who have passed 10+2 from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or state open school, as a private candidate from state boards; with Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject can apply under NEET qualification code 2.

Who can also apply code 2: It should also be noted that the qualifying examination code for NEET 2020 for droppers will also be the same. For instance, a candidate has passed qualifying examination from CBSE/ISCE or any state board in the year 2018, but wish to appear for NEET 2020, he/she can apply for the exam with Code 2.

For more details and informations you can check out the official sites too .

Hope this will help you out.

Good luck.

In Neet marks which sub mark plays an important role in deciding the seat whether physics or bio?? . If suppose 2 students got the same marks how will be the ranking in AIR whether it depends on physics percentile or bio percentile???.

Saisrinandan Ch 29th Mar, 2020

Hello,

When two candidates get the same marks, then the issue is resolved using the tie breaker policy.

In case of NEET UG, the tie breaker policy gives more importance to Biology.

So, if A scores 300 in Bio and B scores 265 but their total score is same, then A is preferred.

Tie breaker policy doesn't include marks of Physics to resolve such issues.

Only Marks of Bio,Chem and then less number of incorrect answers and finally DOB are considered. (in the same order)

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

how to study for neet 2021. ..

Saisrinandan Ch 29th Mar, 2020

Hello,

Preparation strategy depends in whether you just got promoted to class 12 or if you are taking a drop year. In case you just got into 12, then for some initial days, your concentration will be only on class 11 syllabus and then you can start class 12.

In both cases, according to me some points are common:

  • NCERT always plays an important role. Thorough revision is a must.
  • You need to solve textual exercises also.
  • Coaching/mentorship will be of very use.
  • Daily you need to equally dedicate your time for all subjects.
  • Purchase reference books/coaching materials.
  • Also, keep some good hobbies.

If you are willing to do self preparation, then you can checkout our NEET KNOCKOUT PACKAGE.
