The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the advisory for category certificate in NEET 2026. Candidates have to update the category certificate in NEET 2026 before filling the application form. The category certificate in NEET 2026 verifies the category of students they belong to, such as General, EWS, OBC, SC, ST, PwD, and others. A category certificate in NEET 2026 is an official government document that proves a candidate belongs to a reserved category. Based on the category certificate, the reservations and other benefits will be provided to the students.
The category certificate in NEET 2026 is mandatory during the application process. Candidates have to submit their relevant category certificate during the admission and counselling process, along with other valid documents.
NTA follows the reservation policies as prescribed by the Government of India for the NEET exam. Applicants can check the list of categories in NEET UG 2026 in the table below.

Applicants are advised to mention their category carefully, as they are not allowed to change the category after the final submission of the application for NTA NEET. On the registration page, candidates have to enter their ‘category for NEET 2026’ along with other basic details such as name, parent’s name, mobile number, valid email ID, address, and other information
Submit the details to complete NEET registration. (Applicants must check the NEET UG registration advisory by NTA beforehand.)
After successful registration, complete the application form
Upload photo, signature and other relevant documents (if required)
Pay the fees
Candidates are required to take a printout of the NEET application form for further usage.

Candidates must note that only one category can be selected for NEET 2026. Candidates who fall under the reservation category need to submit a valid category certificate in NEET 2026. Failing to submit the category certificate as per the NEET guideline leads to cancellation of the candidature of the candidate. According to the NEET Application Form 2026 Advisory by NTA, candidates must update their Aadhar card, UDID card, and category certificate before filling the application form.
