In case two or more candidates score equal marks, the following tie-breaking criteria method will be considered.
Higher marks in Biology: Candidates with higher marks in Biology will be given preference.
Higher marks in Chemistry: If the tie still exists, Chemistry section marks will be preferred.
Higher marks in Physics: If the tie still persists, marks in Physics will be ranked higher.
Fewer incorrect responses: Candidates with less number of incorrect answers in the NEET UG exam will be considered.

Yes , the NEST exam is generally considered tougher than NEET as it requires more focus towards conceptual understanding and thinking , while NEET generally tests NCERT based knowledge where as in NEST it requires you to have deeper clarity in Physics , Chemistry , Biology and Mathematics.
