Tamil Nadu MBBS Application Form 2017Tamil Nadu MBBS Application Form 2017: The application form for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2017 is available from June 27, 2017. However, the Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS admissions have been delayed from the previously set schedule due to the state trying to opt out of NEET. Following the Supreme Court order passed on August 22, Tamil Nadu is now required to complete the medical admissions by September 4. Last year, the Supreme Court had declared NEET a the single entrance exam for admissions to MBBS and BDS seats across India, with candidates required to mandatorily submit NEET 2017 application forms. The application form of Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS 2017 is available online as well as can be purchased from any of the participating medical/dental colleges after the payment of required fee. The sale and downloading of the Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS application form 2017 has begun soon after the forms are released. The last date for submission of the admission forms of Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS 2017 is July 08. It is important to note that applicants are suppose to submit only one admission form for both MBBS/BDS programmes or else their candidature will be rejected.

Candidates seeking admissions in MBBS BDS from any of the Government or Private Medical and Dental colleges of the state need to submit the Tamil Nadu Medical Application Form 2017. Admissions at Tamil Nadu’s different medical colleges will be conducted strictly on fulfillment of eligibility criteria by the candidates.  According to Tamil Nadu Medical 2017 eligibility criteria, aspirants should be a native of Tamil Nadu and Citizen of India.

Important points to be noted of Tamil Nadu Medical Application Form 2017:

  • Before filling up the Tamil Nadu Medical admission form 2017 and OMR sheet, candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully. There is a unique number in each application form. Applicants must cross-check and verify the number and make sure the same number is printed on the application form, OMR, Prospectus, Outer & Inner covers and Acknowledgment Card. Candidates are advised to immediately inform the Selection Committee on or before the final date of submission in case any discrepancy is pointed. The OMR serial number will be considered as the final number for communication purposes

  • Applicants need to fill up the application form of Tamil Nadu Medical 2017 legibly and correctly in their own handwriting. Mistakes on form will lead to rejection of the candidature

  • Candidates are not supposed to fold the OMR sheet. Overwriting, erasing, cutting, making a hole in the Tamil Nadu Medical 2017 OMR sheet should be strictly avoided

  • Admission forms without the candidate’s signature will be rejected.

  • A recent passport size photograph with name and dates must be affixed on the application form and OMR. The pasted photograph on the admission form alone should be duly attested by Group A or Group B officer of the Central Government or Government of Tamil Nadu or the Head of the Institution last studied. The image attached on the OMR need not be attested.

Application/Admission form consists of two parts:

Part 1: Application/Admission Form

Part 2: OMR Sheet

The Application/Admission Form contains 25 items. Subgroup of the items of the application/admission is reproduced in the OMR Sheet


Process of entering particulars in Tamil Nadu Medical application form 2017

The requisite particulars to be filled in the application form must be in cursive handwriting (long hand) or in coded form depending on the item. For example, the ‘Address for Communication’ is written in long hand. For certain items, like ‘Medium of Instruction’ and other alternative responses which are listed in tabular form. A code is assigned to each alternative. Applicants must encircle the code which will indicate their response to that item. In the case of others, like Native District, one responds by writing a code in the box or boxes provided.


Supportive Documents to be submitted along with application/admission form of Tamil Nadu Medical 2017:


Candidates can check below for the list of documents (photocopies) to be sent along with the application form:

  • H.S.C. Mark sheet or any other equivalent examination of the first appearance (both sides of mark sheet should be Xeroxed)

  1. Standard X standard Mark Sheet

  2. Certificate for proof of study from VIII standard to XII standard

  3.  Transfer certificate obtain after the completion of H.S.C. or equivalent courses.

  4. H.S.C Hall Ticket

  5. Nativity certificate (if applicable)

  6. Permanent Community Certificate Card

  7. First graduate certificate (if applicable)

  8. Special category form(s) with Demand Drafts and relevant certificates (if applicable)

  9. Community Certificate obtained from other State will not be accepted, thus, candidates will be given admission under general category

  10. Candidate belonging to ST category must produce Community Certificate

Instructions for Photographs:

  1. Two identical recent passport size photographs with light background are required.

  2. Photographs must be clicked on or after 1st April, 2017

  3. Photographs must be taken with a placard reading name of applicants (as in the application form) and date of taking photograph. The name and date on the photograph must be legible and clear

  4. The application will be rejected in case the name and date are written on the photograph after clicking it

  5. The pasted photograph on the Application Form should be attested by a Gazetted Officer/Headmaster/Headmistress with stamp

  6. One photograph each should be pasted (not stapled) on Application Form, OMR Sheet.

  7. The photograph pasted on the OMR Sheet should not be attested

  8. Candidates must preserve same photographs to use during admission

Note: If the photograph is not a recent one while submitting then candidate’s form will be rejected


Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS 2017 Application Fee, Payment Mode and Communication Address:

For unreserved category candidates Rs. 500 to be paid

Candidates under SC/SCA and ST who are natives of Tamil Nadu are exempted from payment

Payment Mode: The payment can be made through Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘The Secretary, Selection Committee’ and payable at Chennai. The name of the candidate and the course (MBBS/ BDS) should be written on the reverse of the Demand Draft. 


Address of sending the 2017 Tamil Nadu Medical Application Form: 

Completed application form along with necessary enclosures and 3 self-addressed envelopes measuring 24 x 12 cms must be sent in a large sized cover measuring 38cm X 28cm super scribed ‘APPLICATION FOR MBBS / BDS COURSE 2017 – 2018 SESSION’ to the Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai -10

You have less chances based on your marks to get MBBS/BDS college. If you want you can try for paramedical courses.

The chances are less for 15 % quota but decent chances are for 85 % quota seats.

With this score the chances are less to get admission in Gov colleges & private colleges but you can try for private once.
