Medicine is an esteemed profession. It is a popular choice among students with a biology background. MBBS which stands for Medicinae Baccalaureus Baccalaureus Chirurgiae is the undergraduate program in medicine. The students need to clear the NEET exam to get admission to the MBBS course. There are 168 MBBS colleges in Bangalore. Out of these, 145 are private institutes while 23are government colleges or universities. In order to secure admission in any of the top medical colleges in Bangalore for an MBBS course, you must appear for NEET UG Exam conducted by the NTA on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Indian government. This exam is conducted once a year and all the medical colleges recognized by the government must offer MBBS admissions based on NEET scores.
For admission to MBBS, the NEET entrance exam is mandatory. You cannot take admission to any medical college without a NEET score. The applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying for admission to these colleges or universities. The eligibility criteria may differ slightly from college to college. It is recommended to check the details carefully before applying for admission. Here are the common eligibility criteria followed by most of the institutes offering MBBS in India.
Age Limit - While applying for admission in MBBS, the student must be at least 17 years old. The upper age limit for MBBS is 25 years. For the reserved categories (SC, ST, DA, and PWD), the upper limit is increased to 30 years.
Qualification - The applicant must have completed his or her 10+2 from a recognized educational board. They may belong from CBSE, ICSE, or any other state board.
Percentage - The minimum percentage that must be acquired by candidates in his or her class 12th is 40%. The minimum percentage is further decreased for reserved categories (SC, ST, PWD, and DA). The students must have scored at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For admission in some MBBS colleges, English is a mandatory subject.
Subjects - The student must belong to a science background. He or she must have studied PCB i.e., Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in class 12th.

Yes , the NEST exam is generally considered tougher than NEET as it requires more focus towards conceptual understanding and thinking , while NEET generally tests NCERT based knowledge where as in NEST it requires you to have deeper clarity in Physics , Chemistry , Biology and Mathematics.
