Punjab MBBS Application Details

The application form for Punjab MBBS/BDS is released by the state counselling authorities. The tentative date for the release of the application forms is usually second week of June.


Punjab MBBS Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that candidates are required to fulfill for Punjab MBBS/BDS admissions are: 1. The candidates applying for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in the state of Punjab must be Indian citizens. 2. Candidates must be of 17 years of age as on or before December 31, 2017. 3. The candidates should be bonafide residents of Punjab. This clause excludes certain candidates who belong to either of the following category: a) Candidates who are wards/dependants of late employees of Punjab Government/All India Services born on Punjab cadre, or Serving Judges and employees of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Boards/Corporations/Statutory Bodies established by an Act of the State of Punjab holding posts outside the state by the virtue of which the candidates have completed their Class 11 and/or 12 outside Punjab. b) Candidates who are wards/dependants of late employees of the Central Government, posted outside Punjab for a minimum of two out of three years preceding the Class 12 examination of the candidates due to which the candidates are bound to have completed their Class 12 outside the state. c) The wards/dependants of late employees under the Punjab Government pension scheme who have retired and settled outside the state on or before January 1 of the year of candidates passing their Class 12 exam, thus compelling the candidates to complete their Class 12 exam outside the state. d) Candidates who are wards of late employees of military/para-military/ex-military/para-military forces, born in the territory of Punjab. The late ex-defence personnel must have retired on or after January 1 of the year preceding two years of the candidates’ appearing in the Class 12 examination. e) Candidates who are wards of defense personnel posted in Punjab. f) Candidates applying under the minority and NRI quota need not be bonafide residents of Punjab. 4. Candidates must have passed Class 12 with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English from a board recognized by the Central/State government, passing in each of the individual subjects. The aggregate percentage of marks to be secured by the candidates in order to be eligible for the admission process is 50% (for unreserved category), 45% (for Physically handicapped), and 40% (for the reserved category including PH reserved). 5. Candidates should also secure the minimum qualifying percentile in the NEET UG


Punjab MBBS Counselling Details

Counselling for Punjab MBBS/BDS admission is conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. The counselling process usually begins by the fourth week of June.
