Hello there,

As of now, there is no indication that the NEET MDS 2025 cutoff will be reduced . The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has already declared the official cutoff scores, and these are unlikely to change.

NEET MDS 2025 Official Cutoff Scores

The qualifying cutoff marks for NEET MDS 2025, based on the 50th percentile for General/EWS and the 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates, are as follows:

  • General/EWS : 261 marks

  • General/EWS-PwD : 244 marks

  • SC/ST/OBC (including PwD) : 227 marks (https://www.reddit.com/r/MEDICOreTARDS/comments/1kfzr89/what_was_your_neet_2025_score_and_also_drop_the/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

These scores are the minimum required to qualify for the NEET MDS exam and participate in the subsequent counselling process.

Possibility of Cutoff Reduction

Once the official cutoff scores are announced, they typically remain unchanged. The decision to reduce cutoffs is not common and would require a formal announcement from the NBEMS or the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). As of now, there has been no such announcement.

Next Steps

If you have qualified NEET MDS 2025, your next steps include:

  1. Download Your Scorecard : Visit the official NBEMS website to download your scorecard.

  2. Stay Updated on Counselling Dates : Keep an eye on the official MCC website for announcements regarding the counselling schedule.

  3. Prepare for Counselling : Gather all necessary documents and be ready to participate in the counselling process once the dates are announced.

Hi Sakthi,

With an All India Rank (AIR) of 2238 in NEET MDS and belonging to EWS category, your chance of getting a seat in a government dental college depends on a number of factors including the number of seats offered, category wise reservations for the seats and cut-offs for the current admission cycle. Usually, number of government dental services seats for EWS candidates is very limited but reserved.

It is possible to get entry with an AIR of 2238 considering a fair chance out of the not too competitive states or colleges, but I wouldn't bet on it for top-tier government colleges as the cut offs tend to be high. I would suggest that you take part in the counseling rounds and look through the category wise seat matrix for the states of your choice.

Dear candidate,

It very difficult to get admission with 4767 rank in neet mds in obc category for government seat. The govt seats are most closed under 1000 ranks. You can choose private or deemed Universities for this.

All the best !!

Neet mds rank wise college (http://with%204767%20rank%20in%20neet%20mds%20with%20obc%20category%20can%20i%20get%20govt%20seat)

Hi Trisha,

With a NEET MDS 2025 score of 398, in SC category, you are above the normal qualifying cutoff and eligible for admission to Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Manipal. Admission to a Government seat will be difficult because supply and demand can be limited and competition could still be highly sought after specialties such as Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery even with qualifying cutoff. It is expected to have an excellent chance for Admission by way of Management Quota seats. Management Quota seats, however, have higher fees are usually more liberal in regards to acceptance, admission requirements and use of NEET Scores. The fee for management seats is based on topics. It can vary greatly from roughly around 26 Lakh to 58 Lakh for the entire course. The entry fee for Government seat can be much less and considerably less competitive. It is a good idea to check the official college website for the most accurate and up to date rules regarding fees and admission. In conclusion, you are eligible based on marks, but decision related to fees and number of available seats under different quotas will affect your admission.

HEY THERE!!

With a NEET MDS AIR of 2238, score of 540, and EWS category, the possibility of securing a government dental college in AIQ is extremely remote.

Reason:

  • Last year as well as the year before that, government MDS seats in good colleges ended at much lower ranks (for instance, below AIR 200 for the majority of government colleges).
  • Even for EWS, cutoff ranks for govt colleges have remained much lower than 2238.
  • Government dental colleges take seats from the first few hundred ranks, particularly for sought-after branches and AIQ.

What you can do:

  1. You can use NEET MDS College Predictor tools to see which colleges you can possibly get with your rank and category.
  2. You have a higher chance in state quota counselling or in private/deemed colleges.

With AIR 2238 (EWS), you will not get a government MDS seat under All India Quota. Go for state quota or private colleges, as there are better chances there. Make use of college predictor tools for better, personalized estimates.
