The extension of the NEET 2026 registration deadline has brought relief to many candidates. Many students were facing difficulties in completing their NEET 2026 application forms. Considering the concerns, the NTA has extended the NEET 2026 registration last date. Several important factors which contributed to the NEET registration 2026 last date extended are:
Technical issues on the registration portal
One of the most common reasons for extending the NEET 2026 registration last date is technical difficulties faced by candidates while filling out the application forms. As NEET is one of the largest entrance exams in India, the NEET official website receives heavy traffic during the last days of registration. Due to this many aspirants experience slow website and payment failures.
Introduction of new rules
The NTA introduced NEET 2026 new rules such as Aadhaar card verification, live photograph capture and selection of exam cities. Due to these new rules many students were not able to register for NEET UG 2026 exam within the stipulated time. The NEET 2026 registration extended last date will allow such candidates to complete their application form and appear for the medical entrance exam.
Live photograph capture
Candidates were asked to capture a NEET 2026 live photograph in the application form. Once captured, this live photograph was verified with the Aadhaar photo. If not matched, candidates had to capture it again, creating the NEET 2026 live photo upload problem.
Delay in obtaining the certificates
Some candidates were not able to complete their applications on time due to delays in obtaining the NEET 2026 caste certificate or other academic records. Since these documents were mandatory for completing the NEET application form, any delay in arranging them prevented candidates from registering before the deadline.
