Dr. Vaibhav: The feeling of getting such a great result is finally sinking in.

Careers360: Tell us something about your background.

Dr. Vaibhav: I am from GMCH, Chandigarh.

Careers360: How did your family support you in your journey?

Dr. Vaibhav: My family and friends always believed in me including my grandparents. My parents were my backbone. Whenever I was feeling low or not in the correct state of mind, I always knew I had the back of my parents and they were always there to support me. With their blessings, today I have achieved this success.

Careers360: How did you prepare for NEET PG 2024?

Dr. Vaibhav: Initially I started my NEET PG 2024 preparation by solving the Marrow q bank as I had finished those subjects from the textbooks and I wanted to see what kind of questions were asked in entrance examinations. I completed all the subject videos from Marrow in the final year itself, started giving Grand tests from the beginning of my final year and then continued giving them during the internship at regular intervals. I gave all the Marrow mock tests and revised them using revision video notes for major subjects.

Careers360: Did you take any mock tests to prepare for NEET PG 2024 preparations?

Dr. Vaibhav: I gave all the Marrow mock tests whenever it’s live. In the Mock test which was held in June, I got the Rank 27 and in the one which was held in July, I got 40. I also loved giving Grand tests. Whenever I was getting bored and had nothing else that I could figure out, I used to give a Grand test that day.

Careers360: Did you have any specific exam day strategy?

Dr. Vaibhav: This time the NEET-PG pattern was different from last year. Throughout the examination, one had to be on their toes and the speed had to be appropriate from the very first minute of the examination. I tackled this pattern by going one question at a time and giving appropriate time to each question. I tried to finish going through the questions in around 32 to 35 minutes and the remaining time I used for reviewing the questions which I had skipped and marked for review. I had practiced with a similar strategy in my mind by giving the Mock tests and most of the Grand tests.

Careers360: Any message or advice for future medical aspirants?

Dr. Vaibhav: It is very much essential to build a broad and strong base foundation in the early years of MBBS. One's motto should be to clarify the concept so that one can retain it for a longer period. If one's concepts are strong from the very early phase, it helps a lot and gives you an edge over others. Consistency is also very important throughout preparation. There will be ups and downs and it is important to focus on those days when you don't feel like doing anything. Then just solve a few questions, solve a custom module or a Mini test. Keep the momentum going throughout the preparation.

Hello aspirant,

With a rank of 1760 in the NTRUHS PG management quota (B-category) and belonging to the AU region, getting a clinical seat is possible but mostly in the mid or lower-demand branches. High-demand clinical courses like Radiology, Dermatology and General Medicine generally close at much lower ranks, but seats in branches such as ENT, Opthalmology, Psychiatry, Anesthesia or General Surgery may still be available depending on this year's vacancy movement during later rounds. Keep track of round - wise allotments for clearer chances.

Hello,

Your chances of securing an MD seat in government colleges are extremely low with 120349 NEET PG 2025 rank. However, you may still have chances in private medical colleges, deemed universities, or less competitive branches depending on your category and state quota.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

With an All India rank of around 82,471 and UP state rank around 4,633 , your chances for MS Surgery in government colleges are very low. You may get a seat in private or deemed colleges , mainly in UP. Chances in other states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu are lower due to domicile rules and local quota preference.

Choice filling strategy:

  1. Top: Private/deemed colleges in UP for Surgery.

  2. Backup: Other clinical branches (Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology) in private/deemed colleges.

  3. Safe: Non-clinical or less competitive branches in private/deemed colleges.

Tips:

  • Check fees, bond, and stipend before choosing.

  • Be flexible with branch and college to secure a seat.

You have a non-zero chance if you focus on private/deemed colleges and plan your choices wisely.

Hope it helps !
