Karnataka MBBS Application Details

The Karnataka MBBS/BDS application is tentatively released by the second week of June. Candidates need to mandatorily fill in the Karnataka MBBS/BDS application form to be eligible for the counselling process.


Karnataka MBBS Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria for Karnataka MBBS/BDS admission: 1. The candidate must be a citizen of India and must have qualified the NEET UG examination. 2. The candidate must pass 2nd PUC (Pre-University Education)/Class XII/equivalent exam with English as one of the subjects. 3. The candidate must score in the above-mentioned exam with minimum 50% in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For SC/ST candidates of Karnataka origin, the minimum required percentage is 40%. 4. Candidates must be domicile of the state of Karnataka for which h/she is required to fulfill the following requirements: a) The candidate should have studied for a minimum of seven years in a Government recognized institute located in the state of Karnataka, or b) The candidate should have passed Class XI and XII/1st and 2nd year PUC from a Government Institute located in Karnataka State and either of the candidate’s parents should have studied from Karnataka for a minimum of seven years, or c) The candidate who has passed the qualifying examination from an institute located outside Karnataka can be eligible for Karnataka MBBS admission if either of his/her parent’s is a domicile of Karnataka state. In this case, the mother tongue of the candidate or either of the parent’s mother tongue should be Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and the candidate has to give a Kannada language test.

The counselling body conducting admissions to Karnataka MBBS/BDS is Karnataka Examinations Authority. The authority starts the process of counselling by the fourth week of June tentatively.
