AIIMS PG 2017: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, released a notification for AIIMS PG 2017 July session. As per the notification, AIIMS PG 2017 July session entrance exam was conducted on May 7, 2017. The entrance test was held for admissions to Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) for the July session. Counselling for the July session of AIIMS PG began on June 5, 2017. AIIMS PG entrance exam is conducted twice a year for admissions to approximately 400 MD/MS programmes in Clinical and Basic Clinical Sciences and seven MDS programmes in its January and July session. AIIMS PG Reservation of seats 2017
AIIMS PG 2017 July session is conducted for providing admissions to as many as 400 MD/MS and MDS seats in AIIMS New Delhi, AIIMS Bhopal, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Rishikesh and AIIMS Raipur. The number and distribution of seat may vary depending upon the directions from competent authorities. As per a notification released by AIIMS, New Delhi, on June 3 for the July session, candidates were informed that the number of seats at each AIIMS for various courses at PG level has been revised. The new number of available seats can be seen in the Seat Matrix table below.

The counselling of AIIMS PG 2017 is conducted in three rounds including the open selection. The first counselling was conducted on June 5, the second round was held on June 19 (changed from June 13) and the open round is scheduled for August 22 (changed from August 25). For each category, the number of candidates called for counselling will be eight times the number of seats. The counselling will be done purely on the basis of AIIMS PG 2017 merit list. The candidate in order of merit will exercise their choice of subject in accordance to the availability of seats.

The original certificates of candidate who opts for a confirmed seat will be retained in the Academic Section. The same will not be returned to the candidate before completion of the course unless he/she deposits a sum of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only)
If any candidate who joins the MD/MS/MDS course, leaves the said course within six months of joining, he/she shall be liable to pay a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) as compensation for losses incurred by the AIIMS due to such midstream departure
The eligibility criteria of AIIMS PG 2017 for July session is given below. It was advised to read the eligibility criteria thoroughly before filling up the application forms. Also, candidates who fail to meet the requirement will not be given admission:
Candidates must have an MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS from a recognized institution recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India
Candidates must have completed the 12 months of rotating internship on or before April 30, 2017
Candidate belonging to general category must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate in MBBS, while it is 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories
The online registration for AIIMS PG 2017 July session was available from March 8, 2017. The application form was available in online mode only and no other mode was accepted. The last date to fill the online application form was March 29, 2017.
The application fee amount of AIIMS PG 2017 was Rs.1000 for General and OBC candidates and Rs.800 for SC/ST candidates. Along with the application fee amount candidates have to pay the transaction charges. The fee have to be remitted through net banking, debit card and credit card.
AIIMS PG 2017 was a Computer Based Test (CBT). The question paper was based on the syllabus prescribed by the exam conducting authority, AIIMS, New Delhi. Exam pattern for MD/MS and MDS
The admit card of AIIMS PG 2017 was available for those candidates only whose application forms were accepted by the exam conducting authority, AIIMS, New Delhi. The admit card was available from April 25, 2017 under candidate’s login. AIIMS PG 2017 July session admit cards consisted of candidate’s name, examination details, examination centre address etc.
The result cum merit list of AIIMS PG 2017 were declared in online mode on May 13, 2017. The result were declared for those candidates only who had secured a minimum of 50 percentile in the entrance exam irrespective of their category.
The cutoff is the minimum marks required to obtain in AIIMS PG 2017 in order to qualify the entrance exam. The cutoff marks have been prescribed by the examination authority, AIIMS, New Delhi. According to the official brochure, candidates have to secure a minimum of 50 percentile in AIIMS PG 2017 irrespective of their category. Based on the cut off marks, the result cum merit list will be prepared and candidates will be called for AIIMS PG 2017 counselling.
