Earlier, the authority issued a corrigendum specifying the mistakes in the marking scheme mentioned in the prospectus issued for the coming academic session. Only the medical graduates who have completed the basic registration of AIIMS PG 2019 can generate their codes. In order to generate the code, aspirants need to log in using the registration ID, password and asked captcha code. With the release of official information brochure, the authority has announced the major changes of AIIMS PG 2019 examination. According to the prospectus, the exam pattern of AIIMS PG 2019 has been changed. A total of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be asked for the MD/MS and MDS entrance test. There will be seven different types of MCQs which includes: (i) single best answer type questions, (ii) multiple true-false type questions, (iii) match the following type questions, (iv) sequential arrangements type questions, (v) multiple completion type questions, (vi) reason assertion type questions, and, (vii) extended matching items/questions (EMI/EMQ). Also, the marking scheme of each type of questions are also different, which is also mentioned on this page below. The timings of AIIMS MDS and the number of questions asked has also been changed. MDS exam for AIIMS PG will be conducted for three hours and the total questions asked will be 200.
AIIMS PG 2019 exam will contain 200 multiple choice questions, based on the syllabus of MBBS/BDS. The entrance exam for MD/MS/MDS courses will be held for three hours from 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, The result of AIIMS PG 2019 will be announced online on May 10, 2019, in PDF format. Only the qualified candidates will be eligible to participate for AIIMS PG 2019 counselling for allotment of seats. AIIMS PG is a national level entrance examination for admission to postgraduate courses of Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), and MCh courses in the seven AIIMS institutions.
The entrance examination of AIIMS PG is held twice a year in the months of November and May. Last year, a total of 26,392 aspirants appeared for AIIMS PG July session, of which only 13,192 qualified for admission to MD/MS courses. While, out of 2610 candidates appeared for MDS course, only 1336 passed the exam. What's new in AIIMS PG 2019?
The prospectus of AIIMS PG 2019 has been released. With the release of official information brochure, the conducting authority also declared some new changes in the AIIMS PG/MDS paper pattern, category, exam centre and seats. Check the details in the What's new in AIIMS PG exam below.
- Number of seats - As per the AIIMS PG July session prospectus, the exam will be conducted for admission to 464 MD/MS/DM/MCh and 14 MDS seats offered in seven AIIMS Institutes across India.
- Change in paper pattern - The prospectus also released the new exam pattern of AIIMS PG/MDS 2019 mentioning the 7 types of MCQs to be asked in the exam. All these multiple choice questions will contain a different marking scheme. The seven types of MCQs includes - single best answer type questions, multiple true-false type questions, match the following type questions, sequential arrangements type questions, multiple completion type questions, reason-assertion type questions, and, extended matching items/questions (EMI/EMQ).
- Duration of AIIMS MDS exam changed - The timing of AIIMS MDS 2019 exam has also changed. The exam will be conducted on May 5, 2019, in three hours from 09:00 AM to 12:00 noon. There will be 200 MCQs asked in the exam. Earlier, the exam was expected to be held in one and half hour and only 90 questions were asked.
- One exam centre deducted - An exam city has been deducted from the list of AIIMS PG exam cities making a total of 64 cities across India. Gandhinagar in Gujarat has been removed this year. In the last session, the exam was conducted in 65 cities.

March 25, 2019 - AIIMS, New Delhi has issued a notice mentioning that the marking scheme for multiple completion type and reason assertion type questions has been changed. For every correct answers in these type of questions, one mark will be awarded. While for every incorrect answer for extended matching, 1/2 mark will be deducted. Check the latest notification below.

March 14, 2019 - The code generation facility of AIIMS PG application form has been extended from March 14 to April 2, 2019. Aspirants can generate their Registration Unique Code (RUC) by logging in using their registration ID, password and provided captcha code. Only candidates with registration code will be allowed for AIIMS PG application form 2019 final registration process.

Candidates are required to fulfil the following criteria listed below in order to be eligible for AIIMS PG 2019 July session.
Candidates should possess an MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India.
Candidates need to have completed one year of rotating internship on or before June 30, 2019.
Applicants from General Category are required to have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate in MBBS, while the candidates belonging to SC/ST category are required to have scored an aggregate of 50%.
The authority has released the status of final registration of AIIMS PG application form. Candidates are required to check the acceptance of rejection of their forms using their login credentials latest by April 20, 2019. The final registration process begun on March 22, 2019. Only those aspirants who successfully completed the basic registration process were eligible to participate in the final registration process. Only those candidates who will successfully complete the entire application process will be issued the AIIMS PG admit card.
The regulatory body of AIIMS PG has introduced a new application process named as PAAR (Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration) facility. In the PAAR registration process, AIIMS PG application form can be filled in two stages - Basic Registration and Final Registration. The basic registration process of application form of AIIMS PG 2019 July session had begun on October 18, 2018, in online mode.
The AIIMS PG 2019 application form fee was INR 1,500 for the General and OBC categories, while for SC/ST category it was INR 1,200. The candidates belonging to OPH/differently abled categories are exempted from paying the application fee of AIIMS PG 2019 application form. The AIIMS PG 2019 application fee can be paid in the online mode through net banking/credit card/debit card. Note: Aspirants who have already completed their basic registration of AIIMS PG 2019 January session will not be required to do it again for July session.
The admit card of AIIMS PG 2019 for the July session will be made available on April 25. AIIMS, New Delhi will release the AIIMS PG admit card 2019 for only those candidates whose application forms will be accepted. Candidates will be able to access and download their admit card of AIIMS PG 2019 by logging in to their account using their candidate ID and password. AIIMS PG 2019 admit card will include details as candidates’ name, roll number, examination venue, examination timing etc.
The conducting authority AIIMS, New Delhi will release the list of exam centres of AIIMS PG 2019 on March 19, along with the prospectus. The online entrance examination is expected to be conducted across 65 cities across India. AIIMS PG exam centres 2019 will be spread across eight zones in the country. Candidates must select the exam centres for AIIMS PG 2019 as per their preference, while filling out the application form. AIIMS, New Delhi will allotted AIIMS PG 2019 exam centres on a first-cum-first-serve-basis. AIIMS PG 2019 exam pattern has been announced by the examination authority. Aspirants must note that the regulatory body has changed the paper pattern of AIIMS PG 2019, as mentioned in the prospectus. The entrance examination of AIIMS PG 2019 will be held online and as such AIIMS PG 2019 answer key will not be released. Coaching institutes will also not be releasing any answer key of AIIMS PG 2019.
AIIMS, New Delhi will declare the result of AIIMS PG 2019 for July session on May 13. AIIMS PG result 2019 is announced in the online mode. AIIMS PG 2019 result will be released in the form of the merit list displaying the name of candidates who will qualify in the examination and are eligible for the counselling process. Individual rank letters for AIIMS PG result 2019 are also likely to be released. Only those candidates who will score 50th percentile or above will be considered as qualified in AIIMS PG 2019 July session.
The minimum score required to be obtained by the candidates in order to qualify in the exam is the cutoff of AIIMS PG 2019. The exam conducting authority prescribes the AIIMS PG cutoff 2019 for July session. All candidates, irrespective of their category, are required to secure a minimum of 50 percentile in the AIIMS PG 2019. The candidates will be included in the result cum merit list and called for counselling based on the cutoff of AIIMS PG 2019.
For January session, the last AIIMS PG cut off rank 2019 for unreserved category candidates is 1853 and the percentile scores corresponding to the rank is 95.907. The process of counselling for AIIMS PG 2019 for July session will be held in the online mode. The authority will conduct three rounds of AIIMS PG counselling 2019 and if there will be any seats left vacant, then the spot counselling will be organised. Aspirants who will qualify AIIMS PG 2019 exam will be eligible to participate for the counselling process. The dates and information brochure of AIIMS PG 2019 counselling will be released after the announcement of result.
For the first round of counselling, aspirants must register themselves by logging in using the candidate ID and password. Thereafter, they have to fill their choices of AIIMS and courses. After exercising, the selected choices must be locked on or before the last date, else the filled choices be locked automatically. Based on the choices filled, AIIMS PG rank, seats available at the selected institute and reservation criteria, the admission to MD/MS and MDS courses will be granted.
The result of AIIMS PG 2019 counselling July session for each round will be released in PDF format. The link to download the AIIMS PG counselling 2019 result will be available on this page. After the allotment of seats, candidates will be required to select their option that whether they have accepted the seat or not. In case, if they wish to appear for subsequent rounds of AIIMS PG counselling, then they will not have to register again. After the allotment of seats, the shortlisted aspirants must report at the respective AIIMS Institute along with the relevant documents for verification and completion of admission process.
The seat allotment list for AIIMS PG 2019 will be published by AIIMS, New Delhi after each round of counselling. Candidates who will qualify in AIIMS PG 2019 will be allotted seats in the PG medical courses on the basis of the All India Ranks, preference for college and course, and availability of seats. Candidates eight times the number of total available seats will be called for the process of seat allotment to compensate for the absentees.

All candidates who take up admission through AIIMS PG 2019 will be required to bind in a contract with the institution. The terms of AIIMS PG 2019 contract include the following.
A contract service time of three years will have to be fulfilled by each junior resident.
The academic section of a particular AIIMS where admission is sought will retain all the original documents of the candidate who takes up the confirmed seat. The documents will be returned only on completion of the course or upon payment of a sum of INR 1,00,000.
A candidate joining the MD/MS/MDS course, if withdraws admission from the said course within six months, s/he will be liable to pay a compensation fee of INR 1,00,000 to curb the losses incurred by the AIIMS institute due to such departure.
AIIMS PG Seat Reservation 2019
The criteria for seat reservation in AIIMS PG 2019 is described in detail in the table below. Candidates from the scheduled tribe, scheduled caste and other backward classes (non-creamy layer) excluding sponsored/foreign nationals, are entitled to a reservation os as many as 49.5% of postgraduate seats. Additionally, 5% of seats are reserved for Orthopaedic Physically Handicapped candidates who are Indian nationals.
