About INI CET 2026

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi will conduct the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test or INICET exam for January 2026 session for admission to around 1631 Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Master of Chirurgiae (MCh). INI CET exam is conducted twice a year for January and July sessions.

The INI CET result for January 2026 session has been announced on November 15, 2025. The INI CET result is released in the form of overall rank and percentile. The INI CET January 2026 session exam date was November 9. The INI CET admit card was released on November 1, 2025. A total of 23 institutes are participating in the INI CET January 2026 session, with AIIMS Jammu being the latest addition.

INI CET Important Dates

INI CET Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (session 2026)

INI CET result is released in the form of a PDF. The INI CET result PDF mentions the roll number of the candidates, All India Ranks, and category rank. Candidates who secure the INI CET cutoff percentile for each category are  included in the result. Based on the INI CET result, candidates are called for the counselling process.

Before applying for the INI CET exam for January 2026 session, candidates must check the INI CET exam eligibility criteria to know whether they can appear for the exam or not. INI CET eligibility criteria for the January 2026 session can be checked below:

  • Candidates should have an MBBS degree for MD/MS course from an institution recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC)
  • Aspirants must have completed a one-year rotatory internship and have a completion certificate
  • Applicants from the General/OBC/EWS category must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate in MBBS, while candidates from SC/ST category must obtain 50%
  • Medicos should have obtained a registration certificate issued by the NMC or the State Medical Council (SMC)

INI CET eligibility criteria for Indian Nationals graduated abroad

For candidates who have completed their MBBS abroad, the marks obtained in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination -FMGE will be considered in lieu of aggregate marks. The MBBS cutoff marks for INI CET eligibility criteria are the same as mentioned above.

INI CET eligibility for foreign nationals

Such aspirants need to obtain a certificate of grading system from applicable universities/institutions to determine the value of grading in percentage. The marks calculated accordingly must be filled in the marks column during INI CET final registration. The cutoff marks to be obtained in MBBS/BDS should be a total of 55% or equivalent.

No Objection Certificate (NOC): The NOC obtained from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, should be submitted to the Examination Section on or before the mentioned dates. Kindly note that no objection certificate obtained solely from the Ministry of External Affairs is NOT considered a valid NOC for INI-CET.

The application process of INI CET January 2026 session includes the mandatory one time registration, filling up the registration, uploading of documents, registration fee payment, and final form submission. Below are the steps to complete INI CET 2025 registration process.

Step 1: One time registration

All the candidates, including the ones who appeared in the previous session need to complete their one time registration. The one time registration includes the basic candidate information that needs to be completed by the candidates. For INI CET basic registration, candidates can follow the step-by-step instructions provided below.

  • Go to the official website of AIIMS: aiimsexams.ac.in

  • Click on the INI CET registration link for January 2026.

  • The 'Click here' button directs candidates to an instruction page.

  • Candidates must read the instructions carefully and prepare all the required documents mentioned on the page.

  • Candidates need to select the course (MD/MS/MCH(6 years)/DM (6 years) or MDS) in which admission is required.

  • In the next step, candidates must enter personal details like name, date of birth, category, gender, nationality, and details of the ID proof.

  • Then enter contact details like email ID, contact number and then give consent for the declaration form.

  • Click on the 'Register’ tab as shown in the above image.

  • The registration ID is displayed on the screen.

  • The INI CET 2025 registration login credentials are also sent to the registered email ID and mobile number.

  • Click on the 'Ok' button to move to the next step of the INI CET registration.

  • Candidates are redirected to the applicant login page where they must enter their registration ID, and password and copy the captcha code.

  • The details are mentioned on the screen.

  • Edit the entered details (if required) otherwise, click on the 'Proceed to Step 2' button.

Step 2: Filling of INI CET registration form

In the next step of INI CET 2025 application process for January 2026 session, candidates are required to fill the registration form. Candidates need to provide the details of educational qualifications, internship, and relevant experience.

Step 3: Payment of registration fee

Candidates who have successfully filled the registration form, need to pay the INI CET November 2025 registration fee. The registration fee of INI CET 2025 exam for January 2026 session is given below.

Step4: Uploading of images

To complete the INI CET 2025 basic registration for January 2026, candidates are required to upload the images in the specified format. The documents required along with their specifications are provided in the below table.

Step 5 - Choice of exam centre

After successfully submitting INI CET application fee and required documents, applicants need to choose an exam centre. The list of INI CET exam centre for January 2026 releases along with the prospectus. Aspirants are advised to choose the exam centres at their convenience.  AIIMS, New Delhi will allow centres to the candidates on a first-come-first-served basis and the decision of the conducting body is final in this regard. Also, the choices of the city submitted by the candidates cannot be changed later.

Step 6 - Printout of INI CET application form

After submitting every detail in INI-CET application form, candidates will obtain a registration slip. Candidates’ personal and educational details and the uploaded images will be shown on the registration slip. Aspirants then need to take out a printout of this slip for future reference. No change of details will be permitted after the submission of the application form of INI CET.

AIIMS, Delhi releases the INI CET admit card of the January 2026 session at the aiimsexams.ac.in. INICET admit card can be downloaded by the registered candidates. INI CET admit cards can be downloaded by entering the registration ID, password and captcha code. The admit card of INI CET must be verified and carried to the exam centre for verification purposes. A valid ID proof, PwD certificate, and NMC/DCI registration certificate must be carried at the exam centre.

Candidates are advised to follow the instructions mentioned below to download INI CET admit card:

  • Go to the official website - aiimsexams.ac.in

  • Click on 'Academic' and select INI-CET MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh course

  • Log in using the registration ID, password and captcha code

  • The admit card for INI CET January 2026 session will be displayed on the screen

  • Verify all the details mentioned on INI CET admit card

  • Download and take two-three printouts for future reference

AIIMS, New Delhi releases the INI CET round-wise cutoff with the allotment list. The cutoff for INI CET January 2026 session will be released for each round separately. The INI CET exam cutoff marks are specified by the qualifying percentile, an important parameter determining the minimum percentage of scores required for candidates to be considered eligible for admission. The cut-off marks for INI CET serve as a threshold and candidates scoring below this mark may not qualify for further admission process.

INI CET counselling is conducted in an online mode for admission to AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER and NIMHANS. Authority conducts the four rounds of INI CET counselling including the mop-up round. Only candidates included in INI CET January 2026 session result are eligible to appear for the INI CET counselling process. During the counselling process, aspirants need to register themselves mentioning personal, address, INI CET, contact, qualification, and other asked details. 

Candidates who have qualified for the INI CET examination can participate in the counselling session. Also during INI CET counselling registration, candidates need to provide their preferences of colleges and courses, in which they wish to take admission. It is important to lock the choices filled during INI CET counselling. Based on the choices filled, INI CET rank, seats available, reservation criteria, and other factors, admission to MD, MS, MDS, DM, and MCh courses will be granted.

It's highly unlikely you will get a clinical seat at AIIMS Mangalagiri with an INI CET All India Rank (AIR) of 19600 in the general category based on previous year's cutoff trends. The closing ranks for most competitive clinical branches in the general category at AIIMS Mangalargi typically close much earlier, often within the first few hundred to a couple of thousand ranks.
