MP MBBS Admission 2017: As per the Supreme Court verdict passed on August 29, the entire NEET 2017 admission process for MBBS and BDS seats in Madhya Pradesh will be freshly conducted by the Department of Medical Education (DME), Government of Madhya Pradesh from August 30 onwards. In this regard, the DME has issued a fresh merit list on August 30 and is conducting the first round of counselling all over again from August 31 to September 1. Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh High Court passed an order on August 24 as per which the NEET counselling process in Madhya Pradesh was put on hold. The Supreme Court later upheld this same order. The Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh had earlier conducted the second round of counselling between August 18 and August 19. A revised schedule for admissions through MP MBBS 2017 was first declared on July 7. According to the revised schedule, the application form was released on July 12 and not July 22 as previously scheduled. The first MP MBBS Merit List 2017 was also released in a revised format on July 20 but now stands scrapped.
Admissions to medical and dental seats in government and private universities located in the state of Madhya Pradesh (MP) were to be done on the basis of candidate's score in NEET 2017 as per the merit list. Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, does not to conduct any separate entrance exam for MBBS and BDS seats. Thus, admissions to approximately 850 MBBS and BDS seats in Government medical and dental colleges, along with 937 MBBS and 1122 BDS seats in private medical colleges will be done on the basis of NEET scores. Candidates who wish to study MBBS or BDS from a medical or dental college in Madhya Pradesh (MP) must have appeared in NEET 2017 and qualified it. It must be noted that admissions to 85% state quota seats will be given by DME, Madhya Pradesh. The counselling conducting authority, Directorate of Medical Education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh has declared separate eligibility criteria for MBBS and BDS admissions. Candidates can check below for the eligibility criteria for MP MBBS BDS Admission 2017-
The applicant must be born on or before December 31, 1999
Candidates must be medically fit and must submit a certificate of medical fitness
Candidates must have passed the SSC/Junior college/school with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects
Candidates belonging to Unreserved category must have obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together at the HSC Examination, whereas candidates belonging to reserved category and person with disability (PWD) have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in HSC examination
Persons with disability (PWD) in General category have to obtain a minimum of 45% marks in the HSC examination
The application form of Madhya Pradesh (MP) MBBS BDS admission 2017 was released on July 12 (changed from July 22) and extended until July 17, 2017 (changed from July 28), by the counselling conducting authority, Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh. MP MBBS BDS 2017 application form was made available in online mode only. Candidates belonging to the unreserved category had to pay Rs. 1000 (Bank Fee) as an application fee amount, whereas candidates belonging to reserved categories had to pay Rs. 800 against the application fee. Only those candidates who had registered in this period will be eligible to apply for admissions as per the revised admissions timeline beginning from August 30.

Admissions to state quota seats in the state of MP will be done on the basis of NEET scores 2017.
Candidates whose names have appeared in Madhya Pradesh MBBS BDS 2017 merit list along with a score which is above the specified NEET 2017 Cut Off will be eligible to appear in the counselling process as per the allotted rank.
No communication regarding release of Madhya Pradesh MBBS BDS 2017 merit list will be sent to candidates individually.
Madhya Pradesh MBBS BDS 2017 merit list consists of candidate's name, All India Rank, MP State Rank, Roll Number, application state (as mandated by Supreme Court), eligible category, percentile and score out of 720 in NEET 2017.
- The revised MP MBBS 2017 Counselling process Round 1 was scheduled for August 31 to September 1 and the first list of admitted candidates is to be published on September 2.

As per the Supreme Court order released on August 29, the MP MBBS BDS Counselling first round was held all over again from August 31 (12.01 am) to September 1 (9.00 am). Candidates who may or may not have been allotted colleges in the previously held rounds, but were eligible to do so and had found a place in the MP MBBS BDS Merit List released on August 30, could apply for the colleges of their choice between these dates. The seat allotment result of the counselling first round of MP MBBS BDS will be published on September 2. The second round of counselling is scheduled to take place on September 4 and September 5. Earlier, the counselling for the first round of Madhya Pradesh MBBS BDS 2017 was conducted between July 12 and July 18 in online mode, then held once again between July 21 and July 22. The second round was held on August 18 and 19.
Allotment to MBBS and BDS seats under 85% state quota is done through online counselling conducted by Directorate of Medical Education, Govt of MP for the government and private medical universities. Qualified candidates are allowed to fill the preference forms. After filling up the Preference forms, the exam conducting authority releases the notification for all the candidates who have to undergo the document verification process. Candidates whose names will not appear in Madhya Pradesh Merit List will not be eligible to appear in the counselling process. Further, the mere presence of candidate’s name to participate in counselling process does not guarantee an MBBS or BDS seat.
