Eligibility Criteria

  • Completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.

  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCB (40% for SC/ST/OBC; 45% for PwD).

  • Age: Minimum 17 years by December 31 of the admission year.

  • Must qualify NEET-UG.

  • An MBBS degree from a recognised medical college.

  • Completion of a 1-year compulsory rotating medical internship.

  • Registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the State Medical Council.

  • Must qualify NEET-PG or INI-CET

Entrance Exam

  • NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

  • Single national-level exam for MBBS, BDS, and other UG medical courses.

  • NEET-PG, conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses.

  • INI-CET (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test), conducted by AIIMS New Delhi, for PG courses in AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, and NIMHANS.

Exam Pattern

  • Duration: 3 hours

  • Questions: 180

  • Marking: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect, 0 for unattempted.

  • Mode: Pen-and-paper (offline).

NEET-PG

  • Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes

  • Questions: 200 MCQs

  • Marking Scheme: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect

  • Mode: Computer-based test (CBT).


INI-CET

  • Duration: 3 hours

  • Questions: 200 MCQs

  • Marking scheme: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect

  • Mode: CBT

Application Process

  • Apply online via the NTA website (neet.nta.nic.in).

  • Submit details, upload documents (photo, signature, ID proof), and pay the fee

  • Download the admit card and appear for the exam.

  • NEET-PG: Apply via NBEMS website (nbe.edu.in)

  • INI-CET: Apply via AIIMS website (aiimsexams.ac.in), upload documents, pay the fee, and download the admit card.

Counseling Process

  • Conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, 100% seats in central universities, deemed universities, AIIMS, and JIPMER.

  • State Counselling: For 85% state quota seats, conducted by the respective state authorities

  • NEET-PG: MCC conducts counselling for 50% AIQ seats, 100% seats in deemed/central universities, and DNB programs. State authorities conduct the counselling for 50% state quota seats.

  • INI-CET: Separate counselling by AIIMS is conducted for institutes of national importance.
