PGIMER 2020 exam date for July session has been announced!
PGIMER 2020 – The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, will conduct PGIMER entrance exam on May 23, 2020. Through an official notice, the authority has announced PGIMER 2020 exam date for July session on February 5. PGIMER July entrance examination will be held for admission to 223 Masters of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats offered in PGI, Chandigarh. The application form of PGIMER 2020 will be available in the second week of March, only for the candidates who fulfils the certain specified eligibility criteria. PGIMER registration for July session can be done till the second week of April. The registered applicants will be considered eligible to issue PGIMER 2020 admit card from the first week of May.
PGIMER 2020 entrance examination will contain a total of 250 multiple choice questions from MBBS curriculum, which must be solved within three hours. PGIMER result 2020 July session is expected to be announced by the last week of May. Only medical graduates who will secure PGIMER minimum qualifying percentile as specified by the authority will be considered qualified in the entrance exam. Such qualified aspirants will be required to report at PGIMER 2020 counselling venue according to the time and rank allotted. The eligibility criteria of PGIMER 2020, as specified by PGI, must be checked by the candidates before applying for entrance examination. Some of the basic PGIMER eligibility conditions has been available below.
Internship Completion: It is mandatory to complete the 12 months rotatory internship on or before June 30, 2020.
Registration Certificate: Candidates must possess a registration certificate from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC).
PGIMER 2020 application form for July session will be released in the second week of March on the official website. The application form of PGIMER 2020 can be filled till the second week of April by the aspirants who will fulfill the eligibility criteria. The authority will release PGIMER 2020 application form in online mode only. The application form can be filled in six simple steps, which includes registration, generation of login credentials, filling of application form, uploading of scanned images, payment of fees and printout of confirmation page. PGIMER application fees can paid in offline mode through bank challan from any branches of State Bank of India (SBI) in favor of 'Director, PGI Chandiagrh' or through SBI i-collect service for aspirants with SBI bank accounts. PGIMER Chandigarh will release the number of exam centres of PGIMER 2020 July session along with the information brochure in the second week of March. PGIMER 2020 exam centres July session are the list of exam cities in which examination will be conducted. In the last session, the exam was conducted in 13 major cities of India. Since, the information bulletin has not been released, therefore, aspirants can check the number of PGIMER exam centres for last session. It will be updated as soon as the PGIMER 2020 bulletin for July session will be released.
PGIMER test centres
While filling the application form, aspirants will be required to select a PGIMER exam centre in which they wish to take the test. It is advised to select PGIMER 2020 exam centre as per the preferences and convenience. Medical graduates must report at the allotted exam centre an hour before the commencement of entrance test. Therefore, the exam centres of PGIMER 2020 to be selected should be done carefully. The detailed name and address of PGIMER exam centres will be printed on the admit card.
Only the successfully registered candidates will be issued the admit card of PGIMER 2020 for July session in the first week of May. PGIMER 2020 admit card can be downloaded only in online mode till the date of entrance examination. To get the hall ticket of PGIMER 2020, applicants need to enter their login ID and password. PGI admit card 2020 will include the name of candidates, roll number, category, nationality, date & time of entrance exam, name as well as address details of exam centres and other guidelines which can be followed. Since the exam is conducted in computer based mode, PGIMER, Chandigarh, will not be releasing the answer key of PGIMER 2020 for July session. Also, due to the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), no content from PGIMER entrance exam should be shared through any medium whether written or verbal or using any social platforms. During the submission of PGIMER 2020 application form July session, candidates have to check the non-disclosure agreement. PGIMER 2020 result July session will be declared on May 28, tentatively. The result of PGIMER 2020 will be available in the form of scorecard. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying percentile of PGIMER 2020 for July session to pass the entrance examination. PGI, Chandigarh will oragnise the counselling of PGIMER 2020 in offline mode. Qualified candidates of PGIMER 2020 July session will be required to report at the venue as per the specified date and time. The authority will conduct three rounds of PGIMER 2020 counselling subject to the availability of seats. Aspirants called for PGIMER counselling will be three times than the number of seats available. Medical graduates who will meet the specified cutoff percentile will be called for various rounds of PGIMER 2020 counselling. Aspirants are advised to report at the counselling venue as per the date and before time for verification, biometric and registration.
During the seat allotment process of PGIMER 2020, aspirants will be called as per their merit rank. On the basis of PGIMER 2020 rank, preferences of courses, availability of seats, reservation of seats and other information, the seats will be granted. A total of approximately 207 seats will be offered by PGIMER 2020 July session across 20 departments in the disciplines of Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD). The PGIMER 2020 seat reservation for various categories is according to the norms of Government of India. Apart from this, 5% seats are reserved from candidates from rural areas, another 5% of seats are reserved for Persons with Disability, and one seat is reserved for a sponsored/deputed candidate as per the criteria for seat reservation in PGIMER 2020.
