JIPMER PG Eligibility Criteria 2018 - Candidates who wish to apply for JIPMER PG 2018 for the July session admissions must ensure that they fulfil JIPMER PG 2018 eligibility criteria laid by the exam conducting authority. These are the basic minimum requirements set by JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Medical Education and Research) Puducherry which must be fulfilled by aspirants in order to appear for JIPMER PG 2018 examination. JIPMER PG is held twice a year for filling around 100 seats in varied disciplines of MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Masters of Surgery) in each session. As per the rescheduled date, this year for July 2018 session, JIPMER PG 2018 will be held on May 19, 2018. If an aspirant fails to meet any of the prescribed JIPMER PG eligibility criteria 2018, she/he will not be allowed to appear for the online entrance examination.

JIPMER PG is a national level entrance examination conducted by JIPMER Puducherry for admissions into its various postgraduate medical courses. The announcements for the January and July sessions are issued in the months of September and March respectively. The registrations for the forthcoming session of July 2018 have begun from February 28, 2018 onwards and will continue till April 2, 2018 (5:00 PM)
JIPMER PG Eligibility Criteria 2018
Candidates aspiring to appear for the entrance examination must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria of JIPMER PG 2018, else their application will stand rejected. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
For Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) - OCI candidates, who are registered under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955, are eligible to appear for JIPMER PG entrance exam 2018. However, at the time of counselling, which will be held in June 2018, they must submit a proof of OCI registration under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955. This is the only way for OCI candidates to fulfil the requirements laid under JIPMER PG Eligibility Criteria 2018.
For Foreign Nationals - Foreign nationals are also eligible to appear for JIPMER PG 2018, provided they follow the specified application procedure besides fulfilling other JIPMER PG 2018 eligibility conditions mentioned here. To begin with, foreign nationals must take prior permission from the Medical Council of India (MCI) before applying for any postgraduate course in JIPMER. Once the request is made, foreign nationals are required to route their applications via the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.
It is mandatory for the aspirants to possess an MBBS or an equivalent degree recognized by the MCI to qualify for JIPMER PG Eligibility criteria 2018.
It is compulsory for all aspirants of JIPMER PG 2018 (July session) to complete one year (12 months) of rotating internship or practical training on or before June 30, 2018. Please note that no candidates completing their internship after this date, i.e. June 30, 2018, will be eligible to apply for admissions in July 2018 session. Those seeking to apply for the January 2019 session, they will have to complete their one-year internship or training before December 31, 2018, to fulfill eligibility criteria of JIPMER PG 2018.
Minimum Qualifications Marks
Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories must possess a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in their MBBS degree.
Candidates belonging to SC and ST categories must possess at least 50% aggregate marks in their MBBS degree.
For OPH (Orthopedic Physically Handicapped) candidates, the minimum aggregate marks prescribed for the above categories will apply, depending upon the candidate’s particular category.
Who is not eligible to appear for JIPMER PG 2018 (July Session)?
Candidates who haven’t completed or are not likely to complete their one-year rotary internship or practical training by or before June 30, 2018, will be deemed to have failed to fulfill the eligibility criteria of JIPMER PG 2018.
Candidates who have already done their MD or MS from any institution and are now looking for another MD or MS degree at JIPMER will also not be eligible for JIPMER PG 2018 entrance examination.
Candidates applying under SC/ST categories or Puducherry quota without a valid proof will also be considered to have failed to fulfill JIPMER PG 2018 eligibility criteria.
NOTE: Your application will stand rejected or your hall ticket will be immediately cancelled if ineligibility is detected at any stage of admission process.
