JIPMER PG Eligibility Criteria 2019 – Aspirants of JIPMER PG 2019 for July session must fulfill the JIPMER PG 2019 eligibility in order to fill the application form. The JIPMER PG entrance exam for July session is conducted for admission to 100 seats available in varied disciplines of MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Masters of Surgery). This article will familiarize candidates with JIPMER PG eligibility criteria 2019. It must be ensured by all the candidates to fulfil the JIPMER PG 2019 eligibility criteria, otherwise, s/he will not be allowed to appear for the online entrance examination.
Who is eligible for JIPMER PG July session?
Candidates who are Indian Nationals/Overseas Citizens of India/Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for JIPMER PG July session. Apart from this, there are various rules laid down by the authority concerned regarding educational qualification, nationality and work experience that should be fulfilled to be considered eligible for JIPMER PG 2019 entrance exam.
Candidates must be a citizen of India.
Overseas Citizens of India:- Candidates should be registered under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act. While filling the JIPMER PG 2019 application form, OCI candidates must submit the OCI card and the same document will also be required at the time of counselling.
Foreign Nationals:- As per the current regulations, foreign nationals including National Residents of India (NRI) are eligible to appear for JIPMER PG entrance exam for July session. The MBBS degree should be registered under the Medical Council of the respective country where the course was pursued before applying for JIPMER PG 2019. Such candidates will be required to seek permission from the Medical Council of India (MCI). After the MCI grants permission, foreign nationals will be asked to process their applications via the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi. Out of the 100 seats available for July session, five seats are reserved for foreign nationals.
Indian Candidates sponsored by Government:- The central/state government can sponsor candidates against the five seats available for such candidates. These candidates are asked to upload the scanned copy of sponsorship certificate while filling the JIPMER PG application form 2019.
Aspirants of JIPMER PG 2019 for July session must hold an MBBS degree or an equivalent degree while applying for the entrance exam.
The MBBS degree of candidates should be recognised by the Medical Council of India.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
To be considered eligible for JIPMER PG exam, candidates belonging to unreserved and OBC category must secure at least 55% (in aggregate) in the professional examinations of their MBBS course.
To fulfil the JIPMER PG eligibility criteria, the reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST categories must score at least an aggregate of 50% marks.
PwD candidates are required to score the minimum aggregate marks prescribed for the above categories depending upon the candidate’s particular category.
Candidates applying for JIPMER PG 2019 for July session must complete 12 months compulsory rotating internship. It should be ensured by the candidates that the internship is completed by June 30, 2019.
Who is not eligible for JIPMER PG July session?
Candidates who have already completed MD/MS course in any field and from any Institute are not eligible to pursue the postgraduate courses from JIPMER. Therefore, these candidates are not eligible to appear for JIPMER PG entrance exam.
As per the JIPMER PG eligibility criteria, candidates who will not be able to complete their one-year compulsory internship by the aforementioned date will not be considered eligible to appear for the entrance exam.
Candidates belonging to the reserved categories must show the relevant documents.
JIPMER PG is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to its various postgraduate courses. The eligibility criteria of JIPMER PG 2019 are laid down by JIPMER, Puducherry.
