Alongside the result, the NTA has released the NEET 2025 cutoff marks, which determine eligibility for counselling. The cutoff varies by category and is influenced by factors such as the number of candidates, exam difficulty, and seat availability.

The NTA releases multiple merit lists that will be used during the counselling process. These NEET merit lists 2025 are shared with national and state counselling authorities to allocate seats for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses.
Overall Merit List: Includes all candidates who appeared for NEET 2025, detailing their scores and All India Ranks.
15% All India Quota (AIQ) Merit List: Prepared by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), this list includes candidates qualifying for the 15% AIQ seats in government medical colleges.
State Quota Merit Lists: Each state prepares its own merit list for 85% of state quota seats, including only candidates who qualify for NEET 2025 and register for state counselling.
For Institutes in India: The NEET UG 2025 result is valid for the current academic session only, applicable for admissions to medical colleges within India.
For Foreign Universities: For candidates seeking MBBS abroad, the NEET 2025 scorecard is expected to remain valid for three years, per standard guidelines.
