Why NEET 2023 may be postponed: Reasons

• NEET and Board exams: Although the authority has taken all the steps to avoid the clash between medical entrance exam and Board examination while announcing the NEET 2023 exam date. However, the class 12 Board exams will be over by mid of April 2023, not leaving enough time for the appearing students to prepare properly for the NEET 2023.

• NEET and JEE exams: There are many students who strive for both JEE and NEET exams. Although the JEE session 1 exam is over, session 2 is scheduled to be held in April, 2023. This will cause the preparation time deficiency for the students aspiring for both examinations, forcing them to choose one over the other.

• Less time left for NEET preparation: The NEET UG counselling previous year for All India Quota and state quota concluded in December 2022, not leaving much time for the drop outs to prepare well for NEET 2023. The droppers have hardly got only 4 months for NEET-UG 2023 preparation, which is not enough.

NEET 2023 highlights

• NEET UG 2023 will be conducted in pen and paper mode in 13 languages.

• A total of 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology sections will be asked in the examination. Students will have to answer 180 questions.

• There will be negative marking. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect response however, four marks will be awarded for every correct response.

• Admission to 99,763 MBBS, 27,868 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 525 BVSc, and AH seats will be granted through NEET UG 2023.
