NEET PG Admission 2025 Delayed: Check Latest Updates & Reasons
NEET PG Admission 2025 Delayed

Timeline of Admission delay in NEET PG

The delay in NEET PG admission can be traced back to the exam date of NEET PG. Firstly, the exam date of NEET PG 2024 got postponed and later on, the NEET PG result was announced on August 23, 2024. Then the All India NEET PG counselling got delayed with the continuous reduction in NEET PG qualifying percentile and other reasons.

Despite the passage of over six months, as of March 2025, the NEET PG admission process for the 2024-2025 session remains incomplete. This prolonged delay has left thousands of candidates in a state of uncertainty, disrupting their academic and professional timelines.

Reasons behind this NEET PG admission delay

The reasons behind the delay in NEET PG admissions are discussed below.

1. Delay in NEET PG counselling 2024

One of the main reasons for this delay in NEET PG admission is the prolonged delay in NEET PG 2024 counselling. The MCC is still conducting the counselling to fill out the remaining vacant seats, which has led to the NEET PG admission delay.

2. Examination Scheduling Issues

The NEET PG 2024 exam experienced multiple scheduling changes, including preponement, postponements and last-minute rescheduling. These disruptions led to late exam and result declaration and ultimately delayed the admission process of NEET PG.

3. Normalisation and Transparency Concerns

The NEET PG 2024 exam was conducted in two shifts, leading to concerns about difference in difficulty levels. The normalisation process and lack of transparency regarding raw scores and NEET PG answer keys prompted legal challenges, which further delayed the admission process of NEET PG.

Will NEET PG 2025 be postponed due to admission delay?

The NEET PG 2025 exam date is June 15, 2025. However, the NEET PG 2024 counselling is still ongoing, which has delayed the admission for NEET PG 2024-25 session. With this delay in the admission process of NEET PG 2024 it is expected that the exam date of NEET PG 2025 will be postponed.

The admissions for 2024-25 session are likely to be completed by April 2025, which only leaves a month for NBE to release the NEET PG application form, provide two correction windows, release the admit card, and conclude the exam on June 15, 2025. With only a little time left before the tentative exam date of NEET PG 2025, it is pretty clear that the NEET PG 2025 exam will be postponed.

Hello aspirant,

With a rank of 1760 in the NTRUHS PG management quota (B-category) and belonging to the AU region, getting a clinical seat is possible but mostly in the mid or lower-demand branches. High-demand clinical courses like Radiology, Dermatology and General Medicine generally close at much lower ranks, but seats in branches such as ENT, Opthalmology, Psychiatry, Anesthesia or General Surgery may still be available depending on this year's vacancy movement during later rounds. Keep track of round - wise allotments for clearer chances.

Hello,

Your chances of securing an MD seat in government colleges are extremely low with 120349 NEET PG 2025 rank. However, you may still have chances in private medical colleges, deemed universities, or less competitive branches depending on your category and state quota.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

With an All India rank of around 82,471 and UP state rank around 4,633 , your chances for MS Surgery in government colleges are very low. You may get a seat in private or deemed colleges , mainly in UP. Chances in other states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu are lower due to domicile rules and local quota preference.

Choice filling strategy:

  1. Top: Private/deemed colleges in UP for Surgery.

  2. Backup: Other clinical branches (Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology) in private/deemed colleges.

  3. Safe: Non-clinical or less competitive branches in private/deemed colleges.

Tips:

  • Check fees, bond, and stipend before choosing.

  • Be flexible with branch and college to secure a seat.

You have a non-zero chance if you focus on private/deemed colleges and plan your choices wisely.

Hope it helps !
