About AIIMS PG 2020

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has postponed the exam for AIIMS PG July session on March 27 due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. AIIMS PG 2020 was conducted to held on May 3 has now postponed until further notice. The revised date for the exam will be announced later by the authorities. Earlier, AIIMS, New Delhi had released the information brochure for the July session of AIIMS PG. AIIMS, Delhi has also started AIIMS PG 2020 final registration on March 20 which will continue till April 4. Through an official notice, the authorities released revised important dates of AIIMS PG July session.  While the status for AIIMS PG basic registration 2020 was available from February 22. The final status of accepted/rejected basic registration of AIIMS PG 2020 was released on February 27. AIIMS aspirants could make changes in the images uploaded by them in basic registration from February 23 to 25. AIIMS PG July session will be conducted for admission to 643 MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh seats offered in seven AIIMS institutes located in Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Nagpur and Rishikesh.

Candidates who successfully complete the basic registration were able to generate the code for the exam from February 28,11:00 AM till March 23, 5:00 PM. The window to edit option for the column of final registration will be available from April 7, 11:00 AM to April 9 till 5:00 PM. Candidates can check the status of final registration as well as can submit the required documents from April 14, 5:00 PM to April 18, 5:00 PM. The admit card will be released by the authority on April 22, 2020 on the official website. 

AIIMS PG is a post-graduate entrance examination conducted at the national level for admission to postgraduate courses like Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and MCh courses. The examination of AIIMS PG 2020 has two sessions held in the month of January and July for which the entrance exam is conducted in the month of November and May. AIIMS PG 2020 will offer admission to the disciplines of Clinical Sciences and Basic Clinical Sciences. 

Major changes reflecting on AIIMS PG 2020 July prospectus

  • Increase in total number of seats - For this session of AIIMS PG 2020, the total number of offered seats for MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh is 643 which was 548 until the previous session
  • New institute added - AIIMS, Nagpur has been added to the list of available AIIMS institues. AIIMS, Nagpur will be offering 8 MD/MS seats
  • Decrease in number of exam cities - With the addition of 14 new cities and removal of 23 previously present cities, AIIMS PG 2020 July session will be held in 56 cities and not 68 cities like previous session.
  • Counselling registration fee - The authorities have announced that they will begin to charge Rs 500 as counselling registration fee from the aforementioned admission session
  • Application fee - From the July session of AIIMS PG 2020, candidates belonging to EWS category will have to pay an application fee of Rs.1200

AIIMS PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria

AIIMS PG MD/MS Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are required to fulfil the following AIIMS PG 2020 eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for the exam.

  • Candidates are required to possess an MBBS degree from a Medical Council of India recognized institution.
  • All candidates are required to complete the rotatory internship period of one year on or before the assigned date as a fulfilment of AIIMS PG eligibility criteria 2020. 
  • Medical graduates belonging to the General and OBC categories (including PwD General) are required to obtain an aggregate of 55% in the MBBS exam while those belonging to SC/ST category (including PwD SC/ST) must obtain 50% in aggregate.

AIIMS PG MDS Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are required to fulfil the following AIIMS MDS 2020 eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for the exam.

  • Candidates are required to possess a BDS degree from a Dental Council of India recognized institution.
  • All candidates are required to complete the rotatory internship period of one year on or before the assigned date as a fulfilment of AIIMS MDS eligibility criteria 2020. 
  • Medical graduates belonging to the General and OBC categories (including PwD General) are required to obtain an aggregate of 55% in the MBBS exam while those belonging to SC/ST category (including PwD SC/ST) must obtain 50% in aggregate.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has started the final registration of AIIMS PG July session on March 20. The registration for AIIMS PG July session was started on November 27, 20219 and has been concluded on February 10, 2020. To make the changes in the application form, AIIMS PG correction window was opened from February 17 to 21, 2020. The exam will held on May 3, 2020. AIIMS PG July session will be conducted for admission to 643 MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh seats offered in seven AIIMS institutes located in Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Nagpur and Rishikesh.

AIIMS PG application form 2020 will be submitted in the following steps:

  • Click on the registration link to start the process
  • Fill the academic, personal, contact and other required details
  • Upload the scanned passport size photo and signature.
  • Fill in the qualifying examination, internship, MBBS academic details and medical registration details.
  • Submit the fee
  • After submitting the fee, choose an exam centre in the AIIMS PG 2020 application form.
  •  Take a print out of the application form.

The AIIMS PG Admit card 2020 is scheduled to be released on April 22 in the online mode for all the candidates who have successfully submitted the application form. However, in view of the massive Covid-19 outbreak and considering the postponement of the AIIMG PG 2020 exam, delay in the release of the AIIMG 2020 admit card is expected. The admit card will be available in the PDF format and will include details of the candidate such as name, roll number, date of birth, photograph, signature, and thumb impression and other crucial details like the exam centre and timing. All candidates will be required to download the admit card of AIIMS PG 2020 by using their respective registration ID and registration unique code and carry the AIIMS PG 2020 admit card to the examination hall in order to be able to appear in the entrance test.

AIIMS PG result 2020 will be released in the form of merit list on May 8, 2020. After the release of the result, the authority will also release the AIIMS PG scorecard which will carry individual percentile. Only the candidates who will met the cutoff requirement of AIIMS PG i.e 50th percentile or above (for all categories) will be included in the merit list.  Each candidate will be required to download the individual scorecard. The mode of release of AIMS PG 2020 scorecard will be online which will be accessible by using the login credentials.

The cutoff of AIIMS PG 2020 is the minimum marks to be secured by each candidate in order to be rendered as qualified in the postgraduate entrance examination. The AIIMS PG 2020 cutoff as decided by AIIMS, New Delhi is 50th percentile for candidates from all categories. AIIMS PG counselling 2020 will be conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi. AIIMS PG counselling is being conducted in four rounds - first, second, third and open. If seats are left vacant after the conclusion of all rounds, a spot round is also organised to fill the seats left vacant. The candidates will have to pay Rs.500 registration fee for counselling.

The mode of counselling for AIIMS PG 2020 for the first, second, and the third round will be online while the counselling for the open round will be held offline at AIIMS, New Delhi. All the candidates who will secure the cutoff requirement are eligible for AIIMS PG 2020 counselling. The process of AIIMS PG counselling 2020 will be entirely based on the candidates' merit ranks in the rank lists of AIIMS PG 2020 result. The seat allotment through AIIMS PG 2020 counselling will depend on factors like seat reservation for various categories and preference for AIIMS MBBS graduates. Since this epidemic has caused delays and postponded many of the exams so we actually cannot predict what will be going to happen.

If there will be any change in exams dates then it will be notified on the official website.

So I would recommend you to keep a check on the website for the latest updates.

As per aiims pg eligibility there's

  • no limit on the number of attempts permitted to clear the aiims pg entrance examination, also

  • it does not mention any upper age limit for the candidates appearing for the examination.

Now , since there's no attempt limit and age limit , you can appear and write aiims pg entrance entrance examination as many times as you want ,

But yes you should try to qualify it in the very first or second attempt itself.

Final registration of AIIMS PG 2020 July session has already started from 20th March dear.

Only those whose have successfully completed their basic registration are eligible to participate in AIIMS PG final registration 2020 .

You will be able to the form of final registration till 4th April  upto 5:00 PM only.

rotatory internship should be of how many days for aiims pg exam? actually this is a leap year and pur internship will get over by 31 march 2020. So this constitute 366 days rather than 365. So is this okay ?

Yes , it's totally okay.

When it comes to internship then Aiims pg eligibility criteria just says that you must complete your mandatory 12 months rotatory internship on or before July 31, 2020 to fulfil the eligibility criteria of AIIMS PG.
