The NBEMS declared the result of NEET PG 2025 on August 19, 2025 and has also released the NEET PG answer key on August 29, 2025 for the first time. Many students who were claiming discrepancies in their NEET PG marks were hoping that if any discrepancies are found in the answer key, they will be able to challenge the NEET PG 2025 result. However, the NBE has only released the questions IDs along with their correct answer options, and students' responses. This has made it almost impossible for students to check what answers they marked for a particular question, raising a serious concern on can NEET PG result 2025 be challenged?
The NEET PG 2025 answer key holds a major role in the counselling through which the scores and merit list is determined. Based on the merit list, the authority will conduct the NEET PG counselling 2025. Students were expecting that the NBEMS will release a detailed answer key, providing the questions, their answer, and students recorded response, after which they will be given a chance to challenge it and based on the challenges received, the result will be revised. However, with the earlier release of the merit list and not releasing the questions in the answer key, there is no clarity whether the results will be revised in case of any discrepancies found. The major concern of the students behind this NEET PG results challenge is the lack of transparency. Many students are claiming NEET PG 2025 marks discrepancies as per the declared result. The NBE later after declaring the NEET PG 2025 result, announced that it will be releasing the answer keys “Soon”, which gave some relief to the students who were claiming marks discrepancies and hoping for a revised result.
The answer key that was supposed to be available along with the questions asked has only questions ID’s and their correct answer options. This has made it difficult for students to examine their performance based on the answer key and challenge it, further raising the mistrust in NBE. NBEMS first said they would share the response sheets and answer keys, but then changed their stance saying that only the question IDs would be shared. This change has been criticised because it seems less transparent. The merit list was released on August 28, 2025, before the answer key, making many people wonder why the key is even needed since the results look final. Because of all this, candidates are left confused about whether they can even challenge the NEET PG 2025 results now.
The issue of whether the NEET PG 2025 results can be challenged depends on a few things: the release of the answer key, the availability of an answer key challenge window, and NBEMS’s stance to change results based on valid objections.
NBEMS has released the answer key, along with the response sheets of candidates and the evaluation method. Some reports indicate that candidates will have a chance to object to the released answer key, but with questions not being released, this seems impossible now. Also, the answer to the question, “Will NEET PG results be revised” remains unanswered, as NBEMS hasn’t clearly stated if these challenges will actually change the results.
Additionally, the fact that the NEET PG 2025 merit list was already released before the answer key suggests that NBEMS might consider the already declared results as final, limiting the chances of NEET PG result challenge.
The issue of NEET PG result dispute has gone to court, as a group of students have filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court. This PIL is asking for transparency in the marking system, publishing raw scores, answer keys, response sheets, and for clear information on whether the results can be challenged.
If the Supreme Court allows challenges to the answer key or tells NBE to release the questions too and ask them to re-evaluate the scores that are claiming NEET PG result dispute, the results might be changed. However, NBEMS has claimed that all questions were checked by subject experts and found to be technically correct, which could make it difficult to challenge the results.
