For NEET PG 2026, candidates can no longer choose preferred test cities while filling the application form. Instead, they have to select three preferred test states. NBEMS has laid down the following rules for the allotment of NEET PG 2026 exam centres:
Candidates must choose three preferred test states.
The first preferred test state must be the correspondence state mentioned in the application form.
The remaining two preferred test states should be neighbouring states.
Once the NEET PG 2026 application form is submitted, the correspondence address and test state preferences cannot be changed, even during the edit window.

Remaining preferences | Two neighbouring states |
Can preferences be changed later? | No |
NBEMS has clearly stated that test city allocation for NEET PG 2026 will not be done on a First Come First Serve (FCFS) basis. Candidates have been advised not to submit their application forms in haste, as earlier students used to submit their application as soon as possible to get their desired test city.
According to NBEMS, early submission of the application does not provide any preferential right for allotment of a particular test state, test city or test centre. This means candidates should carefully complete the application form instead of rushing to register immediately after the application window opens.
NBEMS stated that every effort will be made to allot candidates a test city according to their preferences. However, due to administrative, security, logistical or technical reasons, the board may allot a test city or test centre anywhere in India if required.
Candidates must provide a valid correspondence address while filling the application form. A valid address proof is also required. After final submission of the application form:
Correspondence address cannot be edited.
Test state preferences cannot be changed.
Candidates should carefully verify all details before submitting the application.
Candidates can submit any one of the following documents as correspondence address proof.
