The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the NEET round 2 counselling in online mode. As per the latest update, the authority has released a notice stating that there is no change in the final result of NEET 2025 counselling round 2. To be eligible for the NEET 2025 second round seat allotment, candidates must be from any one of the below mentioned groups.
Group I: Candidates who registered for counselling but did not get any seat in the first round.
Group II: Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round but their seat got cancelled during document verification. Such candidates will be considered for round 2 counselling with an updated category, depending on the seat availability.
Group III: Candidates who reported the institute allotted in round 1 and opted for upgradation to NEET round 2 counselling.
Group IV: Candidates who were allotted a seat in round 2 but did not join the allotted institute.
Group V: Candidates who resigned from the round 1 seat through online portal within the given time period.
The NEET 2025 second round counselling is an opportunity for candidates who could not secure a seat in the first round or for those who want to upgrade their allotted seat to a better medical college. The step-by-step process for NEET round 2 counselling is provided below.
Candidates who are eligible for round 2 counselling NEET UG need to register online at the official website: mcc.nic.in. Fresh registration for NEET round 2 counselling is allowed to candidates who did not register for the first round and to those who opted for a free exit.
After registration, candidates have to log in and select their preferred colleges and courses from the list of available options. Candidates must note that, NEET UG choice filling for round 2 counselling must be done fresh as the choices locked previously are not considered for round 2 allotments.
Candidates must choose a wide range of options to improve the chances of allotment. Once all preferences are entered, candidates must lock their choices within the specified dates. Failure to lock choices result in the auto locking of the filled preferences.
Once the choice filling period is over, the authority processes the NEET seat allotment. The NEET 2025 seat allotment for round 2 is done on the basis of candidate’s NEET rank, category, seat availability and the preferences filled. Candidates can download the NEET 2025 second round seat allotment PDF from the official website.
Candidates who are allotted a seat must report at the institute within the NEET UG 2025 round 2 reporting dates. Candidates are required to complete the admission formalities, appear for document verification and pay the admission fees in order to secure the allotted seat.
