The NTA has launched a NEET suspicious claims reporting portal, enabling candidates to report false claims related to the examination. Emphasizing the seriousness of the situation, the NTA has invoked the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, warning that individuals found guilty of adopting or facilitating unfair means will face stringent penalties. The agency has urged candidates to rely solely on official communications from the NEET official website.
In response to the NEET-UG 2024 controversy, the authority has significantly enhanced security measures for the NEET exam 2025. Key initiatives include comprehensive checks at NEET exam centres, with district police collaborating with NTA security protocols. The transportation of question papers and NEET OMR sheets is conducted under full police protection to prevent any tampering or leaks. CCTV cameras have been installed at exam centres to ensure full accountability and transparency. Also, authorities are also closely monitoring coaching centers and online platforms to avert organized cheating networks.
The NEET 2024 paper leak controversy casted a serious shadow over the integrity of India’s premier medical entrance exam. Following unusual scoring patterns such as 67 perfect scores and the mathematically impossible 719 marks, investigations revealed a leak originating in Bihar, with candidates reportedly paying large sums to access the paper early. The CBI investigation uncovered a network involving school officials and facilitators. In response, the Supreme Court acknowledged limited impact but ruled out a re-exam, while the NTA conducted a retest for 1,563 students. Strict penalties followed: admissions of 14 students were cancelled, 26 were suspended, and dozens were debarred for multiple years, marking a stern message against exam malpractice.
