NEET state counselling refers to the process of admission conducted separately by each state after the declaration of NEET UG results. Through this counselling, eligible candidates are allotted seats in government, private and minority medical colleges located within that state. Unlike MCC NEET counselling, state counselling follows individual state rules regarding domicile, reservation, fee structure, eligibility and admission. Candidates who have qualified NEET UG and meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the respective state authority can apply. Generally, the eligibility criteria for the NEET state quota counselling are as follows.

NEET State Quota Counselling 2026: Detailed Process
Candidates must check the detailed process for NEET state counselling 2026 as mentioned below.
Step 1: Visit the official counselling website – Candidates have to visit the respective counselling website for which they are appearing.
Step 2: Register using NEET credentials - Complete the registration process by submitting all the required details and NEET credentials. Aspirants have to pay the required counselling fee to complete the application process. The login credentials generated during the registration process must be saved for further processing
Step 3: Complete choice filling and locking - Eligible candidates have to complete the choice filling and locking. Students are advised to fill as many choices as they can as per their priority list. It is important to lock in your choices once done. If not, the choices will be automatically locked once the deadline is over.
Step 4: Seat allotment of NEET UG state counselling - The seat allotment of NEET UG is done based on the merit list, choices filled by the candidates, reservation criteria and seat availability in the participating colleges. The state counselling authorities release the seat allotment result PDF for each round individually on their respective state medical council websites.
Step 5: Reporting at the allotted college - After receiving the allotment, candidates who are allotted seats have to report to the designated colleges along with requisite documents to complete the admission process within the given dates. In case of non-reporting at the allotted college, the admission will be cancelled.
