    What is the NEET state wise cutoff?

    The NEET cutoff refers to the minimum marks that a candidate must secure to be eligible for admission to medical courses. The NEET cutoff 2025 is released by the NTA for each category along with the declaration of NEET result. It can be understood as candidates who have secured marks equal to or above NEET 2025 cutoff are eligible for centralized NEET UG counselling as well as state counselling.

    Each state releases its own cutoff for MBBS and BDS admissions under the 85% state quota. The state wise cutoff in NEET 2025 is the last rank at which admission is granted to the medical and dental colleges.     The state wise NEET cutoff is influenced by various factors which can be checked below.

    • Seat availability: The NEET cutoff for states vary depending upon the number of medical or dental seats in the state. States with more government and private medical colleges tend to have lower cutoffs because of more number of seat availability.

    • Category: The NEET 2025 state wise cutoff also differs vastly based on the reservation category. Cutoff for general and EWS category is higher as compared to reserved category.

    • Domicile policies: Although candidates from one state can apply for the NEET counselling in another state, however due to state domicile policies, seats are generally limited to domicile holders of that state.

    • Overall performance from the state: If a large number of candidates from a particular state perform well in the NEET exam, the cutoff for that state is likely to rise.

    • Demand for the college: States have reputed colleges and government institutions where demand for MBBS seats is high. NEET 2025 state wise cutoff for such colleges is higher within the same state.
