On behalf of All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) we have moved Supreme Court of India against scheduled examination of NEET -PG 2022 dated 21st May, 2022. . The aspirants raised own grievances due to mismatch / clashing of dates in ongoing counselling for NEET-PG 2021
— SANDEEP S TIWARI (@SANDEEPSTIWARI5) May 4, 2022
AIMSA has cited reasons for postponing the exam, stating that the NEET PG 2021 counselling is still underway and is expected to be completed by May 3, 2022, which leaves students in the dark about how it will conclude and what it will look like. NEET PG 2022 date compared to NEET PG 2021 counselling is too small a gap for students to prepare for the test, causing them to be stressed.

There are approximately 5,000 interns who are now ineligible to take exams in several states, including Kerala, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and others. Mr. S. Venkateshan MP, Lok Sabha Madurai, Tamil Nadu, wrote to Mansukh Mandaviya that many final year NEET PG students engaged in COVID duties started their internships late.

Mr. Oomen Chandi also urged Kerala's current Chief Minister, Mr. Pinari Vijayan, to provide justice to Kerala doctors
In the light of Hon’ble Supreme Court's decision not to interfere in policy matters of #NEETPG2022 I request CM @vijayanpinarayi to take steps to ensure #JusticeForKeralaDoctors and seek relaxation in the eligibility criteria or postponement of exam to facilitate reconsideration.

In light of the fact that the internship eligibility criteria deadline was moved from May 31 to July 31 without taking into consideration interns from Kerala, the Kerala House Surgeons' Association has written to the NBE requesting to postpone the NEET PG date of exam for another month and to extend the eligibility date to August 31.
Medical students of Kerala were subjected to a long period of uncertainty surrounding their clinical postings and exam dates, resulting in their final MBBS exams getting postponed repeatedly, and in turn, their internship," said the association in the letter. There are about 2500 surgeons who won't be able to write the NEET PG exam because their internships end only in August, as the eligibility criteria are set for July 3.
NEET PG 2022 exam and counselling are being held too close together
NMC's policy stipulates that there needs to be a sufficient time gap between the end of one NEET PG session and the start of another. This year the All India Quota (AIQ) counseling for NEET PG 2021 will end on 3 May 2022, followed by state counselling, which might go till the end of the month, while the next NEET PG exam is scheduled on 21 May, just a few days after the end of the counselling. “This is unfair," the letter to PM stated
Medical graduates continue to write that the National Medical Commission (NMC) is "decisive" not to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exam date since they want it to begin in August. Additionally, the aspirants claimed that the NMC could still move the NEET 2022 exam to July without affecting the academic year. .
As a result of repeated disregard by higher authorities, including NMC and the NBE, the aspirants are uncertain whether they will be able to get a seat this year. The NEET PG aspirants said the higher authorities, including the NMC and the NBE, have consistently ignored them. It was becoming increasingly difficult to approach the court every month.
NEET PG 2021 Counselling alterations
The doctors expressed their frustration in appearing for the NEET PG 2022 exam, writing, "We are in a quandary whether we should attend NEET PG 2021 counseling or prepare for the exam since we have had the NEET PG 2021 counselling schedule changed almost seven times by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) this year and the mop-up round was canceled both at the state and all India levels. How could we study with these uncertainties?"
The students claimed they were continuously harassed mentally by both the NMC and the NBE. They said, "If the examination takes place on May 21, then we 1000 doctors will have no choice but to surrender our prestigious medical degrees to India at Rashtrapati Bhavan due to our disappointment, frustration, and the countless loopholes in the examination and counselling procedures of the NMC and NBE."
Aspirants asserted a two-month extension of the exam would enable them to accommodate the non-eligible interns. The aspirants said they would have two months to prepare and revise for those who did not qualify through mop-up.
Scam uncovered in NEET PG admissions in Telangana
According to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, private medical colleges have been earning rupees by exploiting a loophole in NEET PG admissions. Under the management quota, private colleges can fill seats if students do not join colleges after being selected. As a result, management reportedly sells every NEET PG seat for Rs 2 crore.
In accordance with university officials, private colleges block NEET PG seats on the grounds that merit and AIQ students have applied. Yet facts show otherwise. The private management waits until all phases of PG admissions have been completed.
Health Minister T. Harish Rao was informed about the matter by the university official who suspected private medical colleges were involved in the affair. He instructed the registrar to complain about the private medical colleges in the respective police stations.
There are 2,295 PG seats in 33 medical colleges under the KNR University of Health Sciences. Of these, 1,090 seats are under the convener quota, 512 are under the All India quota, and 693 are under the management quota, as the registrar informed.
It has been found that the admission process for more than 40 of these seats has been irregularly conducted, with private management blocking the seats using the "Stay Vacancy" option. According to university officials, a complaint has been filed with the police commissionerate here.
NEET PG 2022 to be postponed? - What are NBE's thoughts?
So far, the NBE has not commented on the postponement. There is no official word on whether or not the exam date will change. Also, there is a dissent among students who do not want the NEET PG exam date postponed and want it to happen on the scheduled date.
Please don't postpone neet pg its dishearting. Those who want to postpone will never be prepared for exams.. there are almost 2-3lakh candidates for neet pg and only 3000-4000 interns r not able to give exam ( also only half or less than half is want to give exam) . pic.twitter.com/SN701fpe0K
