The National Testing Agency (NTA) closed the NEET 2024 application form window on the official website exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/. The last date to fill out the NEET application form 2024 was April 10. A link to fill out the NEET application form was provided here. Eligible candidates were able to fill out the NEET application form 2024 online.

Earlier, the NEET application form 2024 date was extended to April 10. The NEET 2024 correction window was reopened from April 11 to 12, 2024. This year, NTA introduced some changes in the NEET 2024 official website, the process of identification selections and login methods. The authority has also removed the requirement of class 10 pass certificate and address proof this year. Only the candidates who fulfil the NEET 2024 eligibility criteria will be able to fill out the application form. How to fill NEET application form 2024?

Step 1: NEET registration 2024

To fill the NEET application form 2024, candidates are required to click on 'fill application form'. On the new page, click on 'NTA NEET registration 2024 link' which will lead to the instructions page which must be read carefully.

During NEET-UG registration process, candidates will have to fill the below mentioned details. A password must also be created as per the given specifications which will be used for all future login. A NEET application number will be generated after registration for NEET NTA 2024. This will be the user ID that will be used to login for filling the NEET 2024 application form.

Choose a password: In the next step, candidates will have to choose a password, retype the same, enter a security question, and choose the answer. Candidates are advised to keep the security question and answer safe as this may be required to retrieve the password in case a candidate forgets it.

To complete the NEET 2024 registration, candidates must verify the above details and submit them.

Generation of provisional application number: After the successful registration for NEET, the provisional application number will be displayed. This must be noted down as it is the NEET 2024 login ID for all future logins.

Particular checklist to be verified: Candidates need to verify all the details by clicking on each section. Aspirants will not be allowed to proceed without ticking on the particulars. Aspirants are advised to verify all the details carefully, as after submission, changes will not be allowed.

Step 2: Filling up the NEET application form 2024

Once the registration process is completed, candidates will have to click on 'Complete Application Form' as shown in the image below. Aspirants will have to login using the provisional registration number and password. It is mandatory to fill in the remaining details in the application form of NEET 2024. The other details to be filled in the NEET online application form 2024 are:

Section 2. Apply for: In this section, the entrance exam - "NEET" - will be filled in by default. Candidates will have to provide the following details:

  • Medium of NEET question paper: The exam paper will be conducted in 13 languages namely, English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

  • Selection of NEET 2024 exam city: Candidates will have to choose four preferences of exam cities where the test will be conducted.

Section 3. Academic details (Class 12 or equivalent): Enter the following 10+2 qualifying details:

Step 3: Uploading of scanned documents and images

After filling the details in the NEET form 2024, candidates will have to upload scanned copies of the photograph and signature as specified. Candidates need to click on 'upload documents'. The documents to be uploaded are detailed below.

  • Passport photograph: It must be passport-size with a white background having the name of the candidate and the date of the photograph underneath the image. The size of the file can be 10 kb to 200 kb in JPEG format.

  • Signature: This must be done with a black ink pen on white paper and should be scanned to a file with size 4 kb to 30 kb in JPG format.

  • Left-hand thumb impression: Candidates must upload a digital image of the left-hand thumb impression on white paper with blue ink in JPG format and the size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.

  • Postcard size photo: Apart from the passport size photo, candidates are required to upload postcard-size photographs in JPG format with size between 10 kb to 200 kb.

Step 4: NEET application fee payment

After the uploading of documents as per the specifications, the option to pay the NEET application fee 2024 will appear on the screen. Click on 'pay examination fee'. The application fee of NEET UG 2024 can be paid in online mode only. NEET 2024 application fees varies for general, OBC/ST/SC, and EWS categories.

Online payment mode: Candidates can pay the NEET 2024 application fee through Debit/Credit/Net banking or Unified Payment Interface (UPI) using State Bank of India/Syndicate Bank/ICICI Bank/HDFC Bank/Paytm service provider. Candidates must ensure that the Credit/Debit card used for payment is within the validity period. For net banking, it is advisable to check the balance of the account and keep all the credentials ready before logging on to submit the application form.

Note: Keep the proof of payment in the form of transaction ID/ receipt in case of online payment safe till admission is complete.

Step 5: Printing the NEET acknowledgement receipt

  • Once the application fee is paid, a NEET confirmation page pdf or acknowledgement receipt will be generated. This means that the application for NEET 2024 has been successfully submitted.

  • A copy of the NEET acknowledgement or confirmation page will also be sent to the registered email as well as the mobile number of the candidates.

  • Candidates are advised to save this acknowledgement receipt for future reference. They are also advised to take a printout of the same for reference.

While filling out the application form for NEET UG 2024, candidates will have to upload a passport-size photo, left & right thumb and finger impressions, signature, postcard-size photograph, and other required documents.

NTA informs all registered students about the image discrepancy, which must be corrected before the NEET 2024 application form's last date. Any modifications or corrections to the photograph/signature could be done using the login facility given by NTA or even with the correction window. Candidates will have to follow the below-mentioned steps to correct any discrepancies in their photograph or signature uploaded with the NEET form 2024.

  • Click on the 'NEET candidate login' link (was provided here)

  • Enter the NEET application number and password

  • The option to upload the photograph/signature will be displayed on the screen

  • Upload the correct images as per the given specifications

  • Verify once before submitting it

  • After submission, an OTP number will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number of the candidates

  • After the given OTP number is entered, the NEET correction slip will be displayed on the screen

  • It is advised to safely keep this printout for future reference

Issues occurring while filling NEET UG 2024 application form

As there is ample time for the last date to fill the NEET application form, applicants can wait a bit before filling up the application form as there are many issues that are being faced by the students. NTA is expected to resolve these issues and also issued a notice regarding this. Candidates should not panic if they face any of these issues while filling the NEET 2024 application form and should wait for some time until these issues gets resolved. Some of these issues are -

  • Even after entering the Aadhar number and OTP, the server is asking to enter these details again and again. Also, many students are unable to receive OTP in their registered mobile number.
  • Upon successful registration, when students are trying to log in, an error message of “Internal server error” is displayed again and again.
  • Even after the successful fee payment, upon logging in, the server asks for Aadhar details again and again, even though the whole application form process is completed.
  • Students are also facing problems while uploading their photo and an error of “Please upload valid photo” is coming up.
  • While saving the qualification details and clicking on "save and proceed", it gives an error of “something went wrong”
