Even in government colleges under the All India Quota, seats are being allotted at much higher ranks in NEET UG 2025 - for example, the Open category last rank reached 21,190 this year, compared to 19,603 last year. Deemed universities' NEET cutoff have seen the biggest gaps, with some admitting students beyond Rank 7 lakh. This sudden change is linked to lower qualifying marks (General cutoff score 144 in 2025 vs 162 in 2024), more seats, and shifting student preferences - completely changing the admission game for MBBS aspirants.
